Sadly, as early CT FS owners (my VIN#0028xx), we were not offered the free lifetime supercharger. I feel really bad when seeing that they later stared offering this for new FS buyers. Remember seeing this priced as an option for other Tesla models.

But, I'm willing to pay $1000 for this, knowing that we have 0 chance to get it for free, I think Tesla never does retro things like that.

How much you'd pay for it, and how much you think it'd be worth?

At 15,000 miles per year, assuming the average owner keeps it 5 years, and Tesla charges $0.41/kwh and Cybertruck gets 2miles per kwh, we're at a value of over $15k. Tesla isn't likely to sell this for much less than half that unless they want to loose money. Remember the longer you wait; the better the deal becomes. But you get in the end whatever you agreed to get. Don't expect more and get bitter because you didn't wait.

I'm happy for people that got the deal. That means in 5 years when my son is shopping for a used Cybertruck, he might be able to snag one ?.

I've spent $180 so far in 15k miles so I don't think I'd be willing to go $1k.

Bummer. I had free super charging on my 2016 model x and it transferred so I assumed it would be the same but that makes sense. Maybe it will at least lead to seeing more Cybertrucks on the road.

All my Teslas combined, I’ve Supercharged ~800kwh worth. Factor in 89 months of total Tesla vehicle ownership (9kwh/month)…approximate duration of ownership per vehicle (10years/120months…1080kwh total)…$0.65/kwh estimated average cost of Supercharging during that time frame….6.37% time value of money….

So on the high end, assuming I end up keeping these cars for ~10 years, I’d pay ~$377/vehicle. Realistically, I’d probably only buy in at $100-200.

IMO the value of free supercharging for life is dependent on the owner's ability and necessity to charge at a supercharger. If the CT is driven for work with lots of miles plus some towing here and there, free supercharging would be useful and a money saver.

However in my ownership so far, I have not needed supercharging much other than road tripping long distances. Also, since supercharging degrades the battery faster than home charging, the free supercharging ability isn't needed for my personal purposes and to extend the longevity of the battery.

It comes down to usage, frequency of charging, and proximity to supercharger stations.

For us, it’s PRICELESS! Purchased 1st week of Jan 2025 as free supercharging pushed us over the top.

The cybertruck is taking too long to charge. I am not sure want to seat at supercharger 40 minutes everyday

$15k value over 5 years sounds about right for a road warrior before adding in towing (1.5mi/kWh). I’ve logged $2,337 in superchargers over the last 10 months, so on track for $14k/5 years.

Planning on keeping the truck for 10 years so I’d trade in/sell at a $30k loss in an instant to get a foundation with unlimited miles.

I doubt Tesla will offer this, but I've spent about $2,800 on SC since May.

So probably 7- $10k as I doubt I'll keep it beyond 5 years.

1 long road trip will cost you over $100. Basically you wouldn't because you don't travel in your CT.

So are you retiree or what? You don’t drive anywhere where that is more than 50 miles one way from home? Ever?

Are you one of the I don’t go anywhere far that I don’t fly guys or are you somebody who doesn’t do road trips or when you do you rent a car?

I’m so confused by this lifestyle. I get charging at home avoids the need for supercharging, but that doesn’t work unless you’re never really go more than 150 miles one way from your house.

*Note: I see you’re in Sacramento so I can tell you right now that’s a place I would want to get the hell out of frequently and there’s so many good places to go around where you are that absolutely require you to do supercharging, so, what gives?
