sheesh if its 89 i am all in. i was initially planning and saving if it cost the same as a plaid s or x so if i was in for 120-130, i sure am going to be in for 89 and will even add FSD to it too. even though i think the autopilot feature is more than enough for what i need it for. but ill do it just to get first dibs.

Probably will. Especially if waiting for a dual motor would be another year or more. Don’t really need that much truck (quad motor). I was saving up for a truck before I ordered and put the extra money in Tesla stock while waiting, so I’ll be able to afford it. Rather just get a dual cybertruck and a MY though.

And don’t forget those “must have“ options, sales tax and DMV fees.

Hypothetic question here. Some experts are estimating that the base Quad Motor Cybertruck may start at $89,900 plus a $1200 destination fee ($91,100 total).

Tri Motor reservation holders, are you still in?

TBH I’ve been a Tri-Motor since I found out about CT, but I canceled my Lightning reservation due to unrealistic pricing and limited range. Once specs are out I’ll be able to evaluate cost/benefit, but when I could get a LOADED ICE Truck for far less than 90k (65k new, 55k gently used) an EV looses most of its appeal for me if it’s not a net savings. The whole allure that Tesla had for me is the idea you can get something with more performance, and similar purchase cost, USA made and save big on fuel and maintenance with my use case (20-25k miles per year) When automakers add 20k to the cost of an EV vs. ICE alternative, it just becomes a rich man’s toy or a big virtue signal. YMMV.

Definitely! $89,900 is a bargain!
I agree, if it comes with ~500 mile range and 4ws. I may go for it if it moves my CT2 reservation up significantly. This beats the $130,000 X plaid hands down and is a no brainer.

Very few people inside Tesla do.
Delude there is a really sick documentary about the new EV Hummer and shows the team that did that. I’d imagine GM would have larger teams but really it appeared to be 15-20 people that did it.

I would bet there is more people in the mix NOW on the Cybertruck, but up until this past Christmas(maybe sooner) when a production model started getting spotted… it was probably 20 people or so.

It comes down if you can afford it or not. It's not overpriced. IMO

My Tesla story : if I may...

In the midst of a prolonged illness, I watched everything youtube.

Honey, this Tesla is another Google, So many lies on the internet, Can I buy $10,000 ?

Her answer was yes... I didn't stop. I bought TSLA 21 times since. lol

I've gone from chocolates to boiled lollies, and nearly chocolate again. An amazing miracle.

I am privileged, Tesla has literally given me my lifetime of work back. My portfolio can cater for it.

In my case, saying No will hold back our dream to travel AU.

70 or 90.... Time to enjoy is more important.

I’d bet my spot in line the quad has high 300’s for mileage. We are being rumored of lower range mode Y, not longer. Other Plaid models have lower ranges too. If it’s 89k - it’s gonna be like 370-390 miles I’d bet.

Thanks for sharing, any assumption on how long you’ll be waiting for your truck since you’re in Australia?

I do think production will ramp quickly to 5000 a week by the end of 23.

That could still mean years away, but I think we have 30,000 orders in AU, so hopefully enough to get the tail end of each production model.

My first order is for TRI, which is order number 900,000.

40% of the orders(according to the xls) ..are for TRI ..

At this stage, it puts me 400,000 in line. (all guesstimate)

I reckon, and I'm hoping I'll get it in the second half of 24.

Suits me fine, Telsa slap if I complain about delay. lol

I was anticipating a +$90K USD cost because I selected a Tri, and want to buy the Cyberquad as the "option" mentioned during the launch. I also have ticked the FSD box (early cost).
If I can still get the Tri + FSD + CQ for the similar cost as a CT Quad, I'm sticking with my original plan at this juncture.

Subject to change on changing conditions, of course. Always include a disclaimer.
