And most of his stretch goals are achieved after a bit of a delay. Some actually come in on time though.

mood lighting is zero utility but COOL and easy to do so there is wow factor.
ramp - yeah, it is nice utility but too complex to execute for mass production, so DELETE.
Im sure conversation was like: "the extra cost of ramp is $10k, How much is it at Walmart? - $130 - DELETE!"
mood lighting affects the entire interior design, so NOT easy, or cheap. If Walmart has a ramp for $130 then Tesla can do it for less. That is how I figure it. Your numbers may differ. I am not saying that I believe there will be a ramp, only that those two arguments don't cut it for me.

Sure, Tesla could do it for less... But the $130 ramp is not part of the tailgate. I'm guessing the tailgate internal ramp would be a bit more than $130.

I want the built in ramp but it doesn't look promising. If you look at the mexico trucks with the open tailgate, there is not much more downtravel available before it hits the bumper. I don't see how the extending parts can make up for the remaining downward angle.

I seen it too. But I think I got a clearer shot of it.

Most pickup truck bed sides and tailgate are 19" to 22" tall.
The Cybertruck demo two retractable ramp sections could only be max 19"-22" each ( 2 total less 4ft).

Browsing online stores for truck ramps I find longer ramps for less than 60lbs weight, U.S. made (not cheap import) with retail prices less than $350.

A aluminum ramp capable of supporting 1,000-2,000 lbs is probably 35-55lbs.
A carbon fiber ramp capable of supporting 750 lbs is probably 15-20lbs.

If Tesla mass produced a folding carbon fiber ramp it would probably weigh less than 20lbs and cost less than $1,000.

FEAL iRamp Carbon - portable folding full surface ramps for heavy loads

Tesla Cybertruck Let's talk ramp inside tailgate... 770x320_irampcarbon

Portable full surface ramps for heavy loads. iRamp is a ramp which folds lengthways. It provides a full surface required for electric wheelchairs and three-wheeled scooters. It is very lightweight, made from a durable material and is capable of supporting heavy loads.
The iRamps are only 5.5 cm thick when folded up.
The iRamp Carbon series is even lighter, up to 30 % lighter than the competitors’ counterparts. As the name suggest these ramps are manufactured from carbon fibre, a material that is extremely light, rigid and strong.
Model: IRC200
Length: 200 cm ( 79 in or 6.5ft )
Weight: 6.8 kg ( 15 lb )
Max load: 250 kg ( 550 lb )
Recommended max height: 40 cm ( 16 in )

I have the harbor freight ramps referenced earlier. And I tried using them on both a Ridgeline and Tundra. Approach and departure angles without the kneeling feature are way too steep for anything other than an ATV in 4 wh dr or a dirt bike. Forget getting your riding lawn mower in or using it to move a heavy item into the bed. Your deck will hang up every time. I was able to load if I back to a hill but unloading at another location was still a challenge. It’s just too freaking steep. It would work if the rear end can kneel even without the telescoping gate.

I finally just bought a dump trailer.

On the telescoping ramp... well back in 2012 the truck world went crazy about weak Tundra tailgates. They would bend after loading truck guy stuff like heavy ATV’s etc. Folks that do a lot of truck bed work put serious stress (weight) on tailgates. While I’m not a structural engineer a telescoping design seems too weak for loading a five or six hundred lb ATV with any frequency. I’m sure it will work but not for long. And the truck world will go nuts making fun of them.

Don’t get me wrong I love the idea especially together (telescoping and kneeling). Not everyone will be loading especially heavy stuff but it only takes a few YouTube video’s to destroy truck credibility.

With the truck in kneel mode and tailgate down, how far off the ground would the surface of the tailgate be? 2'? If so then not too high of a step up and almost doable for most of us old geezers and dogs, and if we need to attach a ramp, the length wouldn't need to be as long as one for 4WD full size pickups that don't have an air suspension or kneel modes.

Yeah right. 100 pounds and full of mud and sand!!!
I have two goldens both around 100 lbs, who are usually covered in mud and both are able to climb in the back of my silverado with the seat up, no problem.
