Newbe Tesla owner question - my neighbor has a model Y and can open his garage door by programming the Y from his existing garage remote using the industry standard Homelink system (my 2023 Subaru does the same thing). No buttons - the Y interface is setup so the garage door opens as he gets close. All I can find on the CT is the Liftmaster MyQ - which requires a subscription from Liftmaster (and a Liftmaster system too - lol)

Does the CT have home link? If so I can’t find it

I can confirm no Homelink, but MyQ does work well. The phone app is very good, so there is additional benefit to the subscription if that's the way you decide. The one negative -- my understanding is that the Tesla MyQ feature does not operate gate controls, only garages.

My Solution, works pretty well, I do miss homelink from my Model S. I have a homekit garage door integration, got on amazing for $40. Lets me see the garage door and control it from anywhere. I have an iPhone 15 pro, with the action button, and have It set to a shortcut, that check my location, and if I’m connected to my truck, then opens the garage door when I press and hold the button. Otherwise it opens the camera(or anything you like). This has the benefit of having my garage door in HomeKit, and no subscriptions of anything.

I have my q and I really don’t even no why. Sure it’s nice it opens when I pull up but my lazy but can also just throw a small remote on the visor or center consul and not be paying for a subscription. It’s one of those things you try then you just keep like the 300 movie streaming platforms I also pay for for no reason

Couldn’t get a better option.
Finally settled on a tiny garage door remote off of Amazon. It disappears in the phone charging (phone heating) bays.

I like the myQ integration on my ct. Also, one subscription covers all my Tesla vehicles. I think it was like $200 for ten years! It works nearly 100%. I had to take the speaker out of my wall unit because it squeals if the garage closes when I’m too far away. Other than that, I love it!

For the longest time I couldn’t get my MyQ to work on my garage. The website is no help. There’s no freaking number to call. Only AI telling me what to do. Finally, I had to call the people who installed my garage to come to help. Magically they had to number to call. Now, it’s working. Yeah, it works flawlessly. Nothing special though it works just like Homelink. However, one big positive of having MyQ is that it informs me in my CB and my phone the garage door is either open or closed. That’s a big relief when I‘m at home or away to know the door is open or closed and don’t have to physically go and check.

I was already using MyQ and like it. Multiple garage doors for me and easy to monitor them. It miscues no more often than the homelimk iny MS does.

I didn't get the subscription right away when the free one ended, would up getting a big discount coupon. I only buy the yearly plan though since I haven't kept a vehicle 10 years in 50.

Happy with MyQ integration despite the subscription fee. Has anyone set it up on 2 garage doors? Of my 2 doors one is 27 YO and still working fine but the other is newer. Contemplating an upgrade.

I wish I knew that before, I would have waited for the coupon.

Its $300 for 10 years, unlimited Tesla vehicles. I have 2 Tesla so that is $150 each, or $15 a year, $1.25 a month. No device hanging off my visor, no batteries to replace, and no having to reach up and press it. Combine with the peace of mind of being able to check it on my phone from anywhere. I think its a fair deal.
