Are you sure it isn’t because of the fog lights? I’ve seen two CTs driving with their fog lights on and they are horribly angled and 100% blind oncoming traffic.

Huh? I don't think CT has fog lights. I just looked through the manual again in case I missed it and there is nothing in there about turning on or off fog lights.

Also I've never been flashed since I started driving mine a couple months ago.

I thought the lights below the light bar are fog lights as usually that’s the case. Either way these are really annoying to oncoming traffic. Something about them aren’t pointed right.

Those are the headlights.

Light bar doesn't project light over a few feet in front of you, it's the daytime running light.

oh learned something new lol
Then yes, it is the headlights that are terribly angled from the factory then.

The upper limit of the low beams is very defined. On a straight road, I can see that it is nominally but off at the hood level of an oncoming car. They don't go up in the driver's face.
I wasn't addressing you or the aim of your headlights.

They are not fog lights, they are headlights. And their aim is adjustable from the center screen.

You could adjust the angle of the lights and lower the cut-off. It's a setting on the touch screen. I have read some owners received their trucks with it set too high.
mine was set too high also. It took a while to get them set right, but I was guesstimating by pulling up to a building on what I thought was flat ground but when i got out on the highway it was still too high. I finally have it set right.

As an aside, this has been an issue with my Model S since day 1 and I have had that car for 11 years. I basically have to make sure i delay going from high to low beams so people see me downgrade my lights in oncoming traffic or they think i’m just an @$$hole with my high beams on all the time, particularly if the fog lights are also in use with the low beams but I get flashed without the fog lights on the regular as well.

If i’m at a stop light in more urban areas where I never have my high beams on people in the oncoming lanes often will flash me while we are stopped as well and then i have to turn on my high beams to say “pipe down fool” and get them to stop. At this point i’m just used to it and done giving a s#it. I’m as polite as i can be and if they get pissed let them get pissed. Not my problem. I’m using my low beams so there isn’t anything more I can do about it. If they want to complain to the feds and force Tesla to make the low beams dimmer they can go that route but I’m not worrying about it anymore. I just drive as courteously as I can and that is all I can do.

Haters gonna hate, and I can see at night.

Cheers
I was going to mention the same things, that is I have always had this problem with Teslas since owning a Model 3 since 2018. The LED lights are naturally so bright. Let other drivers get over it.

This is not the thing you think it is, assuming your Tesla headlights are properly aimed.

How offensive a car's headlights are to oncomming traffic is not a function of how bright the headlights are, it's how well they control the light pattern, without sending light (glare) in directions it's not needed. Having encountered thousands of other Tesla at night, I have to say they have some of the least amount of glare out there. Like any car, when they are aimed too high, it's very obvious to oncoming traffic. Also, keeping the lenses clean reduces glare to oncoming motorists so I regularly give them a quick wipe with a microfiber towel.

I can assure you that my headlights are properly aimed and my lenses are clean AF and I am constantly flashed as if my high beams were on when they are not. So I suspect it is not quite so simple.

Just my experience.

Cheers.

The most likely explanation is that they are not properly aimed. It's possible they are defective or damaged, although that's relatively low probability compared to improper alignment. I mean, since other motorists flash you "constantly" I can only assume there is something non-conforming about your car's lighting at night. Ignoring the constant flashing is not the smartest thing to do for a number of reasons.

Is anybody else having issues with oncoming cars flashing their lights at you at night? I'm getting flashed about 75% of the time. I've started flashing back because I don't want them to think I'm just not paying attention. The auto-dim function is working great, but the lights are just so bright. I'm thinking they should give us a mod where we can reduce the brightness of the big running light bar... maybe that's what makes it "feel like" the lights are so bright for oncoming traffic? Maybe if that was much dimmer, it wouldn't look so blinding. Just thinking out loud. Love the lights though.
This was a big issue when the Jeep JK came out back in the day with the high angle LEDs. Most everyone else were still using halogens and it was a pain for a solid 5 years until the rest of the cars on the road started to catch up.
