My point exactly. What separates your success from the lack of many millennials success is the economy of the time these efforts have been exerted. Not generic pull you bootstraps up, get some form of education and stop being lazy a cry baby (you didn't see me complaining about any of this.. Just responding to generic assumptions).

Btw, I'm glad you were able to provide for your family through so much effort! That's the American dream. I just wish more millennials could actually attain that same dream.

well I remember being transferred from Cherry Point, NC to El Toro in California when we had gas rationing.....Gas went from 38.9 cents per gal to over 90 cents per gallon and speed limits went from 75mph to 50mph and 55mph......At that time, I was making a big $7500 a year as a 2nd LT......did we have to make tough decisions, yes......then I went overseas within 4 months and left a 4 month old child and wife......It was not fun in SE Asia at that time......I know I am lucky and very fortunate to have done well in life......but I did work at it and tried to be a good Father and husband.....Now I have grand children....both are on full academic scholarship for baseball and academic.....one for nursing and one for computer science......I pray they will do well and become good parents in the future as well as good citizens and neighbors.....I truly wish everyone well in life......but I hate to see slackers and freeloaders.....take care my friend

what's boomers have to do with it.....point is, you cant live off a credit card....if you cant afford a new car, dont buy it.......if you cant buy a house, or dont like the rent, go somewhere you can afford the rent.......its the same old bullshit, buy now and dont pay later.....let someone else pay for it......you keep complaining of what was in the past and mention that times have changed....so change with it and quit griping or go somewhere else.....quit bellyaching about everything and blaming it in what you classify as boomers.....
