I am not so sure about that, I’ve been to Fayetteville and Savannah GA and between the 2 locations they have over 100. Kennesaw GA has around 30. Georgia alone has hundreds.
Interesting tour of the parking lot at the San Antonio Airport Blvd SC, posted earlier today.

If it's cheaper to buy a new 2025 version, why would anyone purchase a discounted 2024 even if it less expensive than before especially since it doesn't qualify for the $7500 tax credit?

Screen Shot 2025-02-12 at 3.55.18 PM.jpg
If you config a 2025 as close as you can to an FS, the price is basically the same, I estimate lifetime connectivity at $1000. So a 2025 isn't cheaper as apples to apples. Now if you spec it any way down, it becomes a better option. If I were to build my own now it would be without Cyberwheels or FSD and be 10k+ less. Replaced the wheels already and FSD isn't something I use as mine barely leave 5 square miles of my house.

Early plaid buyers may have gotten the rawist deal in the history of automotive sales. Absolutely brutal!

If you had bought a plaid in November ‘22 and had FSD you would have paid close to $60,000 more than I paid for mine in September ‘23 when they gave the “one time only” option to transfer FSD which I did from my ‘21 M3P.

I guess, Fiker Ocean buyers got F’d harder.

==========================

Here’s the whole sordid tale for anyone who wasn’t following this at the time:

My Build Details:
• Full‑Spec Model S Plaid with 21″ Arachnid Wheels and Black & White Premium Interior

Price Timeline for This Exact Spec (Vehicle + FSD):

1. November 2022:
• Vehicle Cost: $143,130
• FSD: $15,000
• Total: $143,130 + $15,000 = $158,130

2. January 2023:
• Vehicle Cost: $122,130
• FSD: $15,000
• Total: $122,130 + $15,000 = $137,130

3. March 2023:
• Vehicle Cost: $117,130
• FSD: $15,000
• Total: $117,130 + $15,000 = $132,130

4. April 2023:
• Vehicle Cost: $104,990 (base) + $7,140 = $112,130
• FSD: $15,000
• Total: $112,130 + $15,000 = $127,130

5. May 20, 2023:
• Vehicle Cost: $102,130
• FSD: $7,000 (major price cut)
• Total: $102,130 + $7,000 = $109,130

6. September 2023 (w/ transferable FSD):
• Vehicle Cost: $97,130
• FSD: $0
• Total: $97,130

TL/DR: A buyer in Nov. 2022 would have paid about $158,130 for my spec by September 2023, (even with FSD available for purchase at $7,000), the cost would have been roughly $104,130. But transferable FSD reduced the total cost to $97,130 a $60,000 haircut in less than a year!!!
I bought a Model S LR and a Model Y at the height, lost over $50K in 6 months and that’s just from MSRP to MSRP that doesn’t count depreciation for being used.

Some wonder why certain folks are waiting, burn $50K in your backyard and then tell me you wouldn’t do everything you could to ensure you don’t make that mistake again. Turns out I was absolutely right waiting, I would’ve lost another $25K plus for having it 6 months earlier. Flip that I’m perfectly happy with my Model S. I’m watching things will get more interesting, in the mean time I’ll keep paying down my S.

To put it into perspective I could’ve bought a Model X Plaid and Model S Plaid for less than I paid for my Model S LR and Model Y P 6 months after I bought.

One more point I don’t blame Tesla, I bought at a price I thought was fair, it was my first 2 Tesla’s. But I now see how Tesla conducts business and I will do everything I can to avoid this again. I’ve never leased, but with Tesla it makes a ton of sense. Anyone that didn’t realize the Cybertruck would be in this position wasn’t paying attention to the Auto industry.

The rest of the world?
That is a very small percentage. I've seen youtube vids and articles on exports and additional cost to make it compatible with local laws. With no Tesla Service Center support and a new vehicle with a lot of bugs still that is a nightmare. See service bulletins and problems on this site.

Welp. There you go boys, we’re all down 7K - minimum.
The first year of manufacture of any auto is at risk for price changes and quality issues, The price you pay for being an early adopter. I'm still happy to get mine in 2024.

I would venture to say that 2024 CT inventory nationwide is in the thousands. My brother in FL claims his SC has over 50 CT’s collecting dust on the lot.

In my opinion the reasons behind slow 2024 sales:

-The Musk Effect
-No $7500 tax credit
-Leftover 2024 model year
-The first adopters have already adopted

Tesla might get desperate enough to offer a $10k “price reduction” and toss in free FSD to move leftover 2024 inventory.

Using a $1k referral code and qualifying for the $7500 tax credit means that some buyers can order a fresh 2025 for $71,490.

Tesla should have dropped the price after the first year.

To sell those 2024 models…

$49,990 Duel
$69,990 Tri

Priced so the other 1,900,000sh can make the choice to purchase.

Many might still take a chance if the price is right. ?

Troy Teslike is an independent analyst who tracks Tesla production and sales. Most of his analysis is paywalled. However, he made a public post in mid-December 2024, which estimated that there were over 9,000 unsold 2024 Cybertrucks in Tesla inventory.

At the time, that seemed crazy. But we're halfway through the First Quarter of 2025, and Tesla is offering significant price reductions and incentives on 2024 CTs. The claim that Tesla has thousands of unsold 2024 CTs in inventory is now looking ... less crazy.

I acknowledge that Troy Teslike is a somewhat controversial figure in the Tesla community. However, he is the only analyst that I know of that has publicly commented on this issue.

For that 7k we got to feel like celebrities for close to a year. I have never before and never will again have:
  1. People hanging out their windows on the freeway to take a picture.
  2. Kids chasing me down the street screaming "Cybertruck!"
  3. Kids at a highschool gathering around and taking selfies
  4. Random people coming up to me asking questions and starting conversations
  5. All the employees at a drive-through gather up at the window to see the truck
  6. A 1,000 thumbs up
  7. 3 middle fingers
I didn't buy it for those reasons, but I cant deny it was an interesting experience.
