I made my first appointment for the PCS failure on March 27th, scheduled for April 23rd. Part wasn't delivered so rescheduled to May 28th. Part still not delivered so rescheduled to June 22nd. Communications today revealed that the part still isn't delivered and it doesn't seem like anyone knows when it will be or where I am in the parts queue, or even if there is a parts queue. Has anyone been waiting for more than 3 months for this repair?

What frustrates me is that I'm reading about some people waiting only a few weeks and getting a repair. Also new vehicles being pushed out, but I'm waiting for three months for a part in a vehicle actively in production with no communication other than my monthly reschedule?
I’m going on 2 months. I’m hoping the revised part is the permanent fix and this is the last time I have to deal with this

I know someone got bumped up in queue (assuming there is one) and got it back in a little over 3 weeks. Their truck was dead on the side of the road. It had screens and AC/heat but it wouldn't even go into gear.
He also had to get a rental from Tesla so I think that probably had something to do with it.

Mine was just pushed from this week to August. They asked if my truck could run and I said yes and then said they would need to push it out for more serious PCS replacements.

Check for alerts under service mode. Partial failures may not show up on normal UI.
Also try charging at 48A.
WILCO. I charge at 30 amps but I'll check for partials in the morning.

The PCS failure mode hasn't produced safety issues. I'm not sure what you mean.

Tesla has been proactive. What else do you want them to do?
I know this is a few months late, but my first pcs failure (sept 2024) threw a critical alert issue, disabled rear steering, put it in limp mode (4mph), significantly reduced the power assistance to front steering, and threw alerts about potential loss of all power and braking. Only way I see it being a bigger safety issue would be if it burst into flames. Software updates may have helped minimize that type of failure, but no one can convince me a PCS failure is not safety related. I just lucked out I was on a 25 mph side street during the day when that happened and not traveling down a freeway at night.

I know this is a few months late, but my first pcs failure (sept 2024) threw a critical alert issue, disabled rear steering, put it in limp mode (4mph), significantly reduced the power assistance to front steering, and threw alerts about potential loss of all power and braking. Only way I see it being a bigger safety issue would be if it burst into flames. Software updates may have helped minimize that type of failure, but no one can convince me a PCS failure is not safety related. I just lucked out I was on a 25 mph side street during the day when that happened and not traveling down a freeway at night.
That was a DCDC failure in the PCS. Charging is a DCAC failure. Two different functions in the same unit.

Just got a call from my local service center stating that the PCS has arrived and I can keep my appointment for Monday 22nd. I'm not sure if it naturally arrived after a three month wait, or if the found a part because I texted them a wall of gentle displeasure. I'll confirm the revision part number and cross my fingers that what I'm given will resolve the issue forever.

They used to make some high power semiconductors with a diamond substrate. Diamond was also used for radiation hardened chips. It is a far more robust substrate than silicon.

I took my truck in to Tesla service today for a left camera problem and some other errors in service mode.

The advisor mentioned a bulletin about the PCS issue. But said that since my truck charges and doesn't have the error they aren't replacing. She also said it was up to 2 months to get one. I didn't even mention PCS so they are very aware.

I'd lost my key card and was in processs validating a new card, un announced to me, my truck stopped charging before reaching 80%. I'd thought it was done charging but noticed it was at 52%. Scrolling down the notifications list and there it wa`s: PCS2_A051. Oh crap, thought I was safe because my CT is late model 2025 with 79000 vin and was told I have a Rev G on the PCS module.
So this brings some questions:
1. Is this an intermittent problem because it is now charging up to hopefully 80%?
2. It just so happens that I've finally got a wall charger and installed it two weeks ago, I'd been charging on a 4 yr old non Tesla mobile charger. Is it a coincidence? Are all of you that have PCS failures been using Tesla's wall charger?
3. Is it absolutely only the AC charging that is affected. I have a road trip coming up in two weeks and absolutely don't want to be stranded on I-45 between houston and Dallas.
4. It is VERY dissapointing that my truck did not notify of this problem. Am I missing something in my alerts on the phone, I do get messages that the tail gate etc is open. And being aware that many are having this issue I've been checking the alerts every week or so.

I had something similar if not the same, "disabled rear steering". SC had it for a week and said it was a connector that came loose. it was an easy fix they said, just had to plug the connector back in.

1. It could be starting to fail or has gotten to hot and temporarily stoped charging and now has resumed. For my failure the signs was I’d get an alert on my phone charging stoped at x miles at 10:32 pm by the time I’d check on it, it had already resumed, “charging started at x miles at 10:33 pm” kinda thing. Could be normal becuase it also did that on my M3P. I may have a defective Tesla charger also as I never have been able to connect it to WiFi and add it as a product in the app.

2. Can’t speak for others but I mostly charged on Tesla superchargers and my possibly defective Tesla home wall charge gen3 not a new UWC. I still use this charger today but havnt seen a charging stopped message sense pcs has been replaced. Although when it’s backing in direct sunlight charging sometimes it drops to 24 amps. No alerts and no messages in service mode as of yet. Assuming it’s just getting hot.

3. 99% of the failures is AC Leve 2 charging that’s affected. Tesla rolled out an update 2026.2.9.7 that was needed for early failures to DC charge with a failed PCS. every update sense should also have that embedded. However, when a PCS fails, sometimes it will take out other items with it, in my case it did something to the computer and FSD wouldn’t turn on. Error was “AI computer needs service self-driving unavailable”. they swapped the computer out at the first appointment and set another apt for when the PCS part come in. When they dug in to install the PCS they also had to order an anticulary part, they replaced the pcs harness and the antic harness, and an ac junction box. Odds are in your favor for just a charging issue now when it fails although a complete failure drive unit limp mode chance is not zero. I wouldn’t and didn’t worry about it for trips as long as I was still within reasonable distance from a supercharger at my destination. Hotel level 2 chargers will not work.

4. When it fails it will put a message on the screen “ac charging is unavailable schedule service” but in my case that message was not present. My case is somewhat unique where I only got a message when I connected to a L2 charger, and the message read “charging equipment not providing power, unplug and try again” or to that effect, on the main screen. When you enter technician service mode and goto alerts you will see a detailed list of alerts and way more information then the regular user alerts. Don’t confuse user alerts with tech service alerts they are different.

I’m getting PCS failure notifications again after having my PCS replaced 2 months ago to the G revision. Awaiting to hear from Tesla to why and what they want to do. Either there’s another revision coming out, which means all Gs will have to be switched again, or it’s something deeper rooted going on here. All I have is a tentative appointment for next month.

Oh, boy. Please keep us updated. I have mine scheduled for replacement early July. Do you know for sure you got the G version? I am asking them take a pic when installing it.
