I took my cyberbeast into the tesla service center on Wednesday 10/16/24. To fix this issue with my cargo divider. I was told that it was a common problem, and they had a solution in place and my problem would be resolved and the divider would work as intended. my truck was there most of the day. when I picked it up they brought my truck out " ok sir all of your concerns have been addressed and resolved and ushered me away. They looked so confident about it that I didn't bother checking, got home and sure enough the problem still exists. All they did was try and force it in unsuccessfully only one side was in the track. All this after I made it clear that I would rather not bring it in if all they are going to do is forch it. because I can do that myself any 200 bls gorrilla can do that I dont need a service center for that. Even after they assured me that it wont happen IT DiD THATS WHAT HAPPEN THEY TRIED TO FORCE IT AND FAILED . Now I have another appointment today. well see how that gos?
When I read these ones it trips me out. Like do these people think the truck won’t be coming back in ? What’s the point of saying it’s fixed and how the hell can you not see you didn’t fix it or do anything when working on it as an employee ? Maybe these dudes are just trying to get OT everyday by keeping the trucks coming back ?

Wow, okay, so the new one's frame is actually 1/4" shorter. This one tapes out at 16 5/8" not including the legs. (Sorry I took the photos one handed so they aren't great but I measured more carefully)

I took a fine toothed saw - hacksaw- and carefully cut a section out of the rubber feet so it would drop in properly despite my plastic bed liner I bought for the bed. Then locks in easily. I did not even remove the feet from the unit - it was a 10 minute fix and now it snaps in and works great. My bet is even the new version will have the same issue.

Thanks for the update. Great info.

FYI, for those considering purchasing the divider now (and expecting this "updated" version), the Tesla shop now shows images of the divider feet that seem to be different than the new ones shown by the OP.

The whole foot appears to be removable, but I don't see that any foot sections can be removed to adjust height (hard to tell from shop image). Don't know if shop image is of the "old/original" style, but it does not look like the "new" one posted.

Be good to get some clarification on what version is actually shipping now.
I believe the photo you are showing are the lock in sides not the feet

Unfortunately this was not the problem for allot of us. The bed ridges hit the bottom of the divider before the rubber comes into play for most of us

Thanks for pointing that out. Not only that, but the response you received from Tesla (there is no updated version) adds to the mystery. More questions to add to the list ?

This is A bad design job by Tesla. I bought a trunk divider early on and it did not work. I took it to my Tesla service site and they told me that the design is defective and when they redo the design, they will replace my divider. I wrote to Tesla and they shipped me a new one about four weeks ago. It was exactly the same as the old one so I sent it back to them. I did remove the rubber pieces at the bottom of the divider and now it works only on the back 30% of the vault. this is really poor customer service and Tesla getting away with things just like not delivering the wheel covers and the light bar. The driving experience is amazing, but I should not be begging them for things after I paid 128k for the truck.

Yeah it’s true. But I guess on the flip side we could all not have our trucks and be waiting for them to perfect it all before they released them to us.
the difficulty to contact Tesla and get answers is kind of genius for them ?

About 6 weeks ago, I took mine the the Tesla Service Center on Ridgepoint Drive in Austin. Somehow, they made my original divider work. They said they "cleaned some stuff out" under the bed. Now it works pretty well. I only hope is stays that way.
How was your experience there? About to take mine in to replace a bad trailer ECU.

Just dropped of my CT at the SC and was told they could not do anything. They have tried tightening and loosening various bolts but it’s not a one fix for all and just suggested I return the divider and await for a new design.

Even after they assured me that it won't happen IT Did THATS WHAT HAPPEN THEY TRIED TO FORCE IT AND FAILED. Now I have another appointment today.10/18/24 we'll see how that goes.
Okay the second visit on Friday 10/18/24 I told them I wasn't happy about their first attempt. And that they told me they would not force it! I can clearly see that that's all they did and now my divider is damaged, and it still don't fit. Again, they told me not to worry it would all get fixed. So i ask how will you fix it ? he told me well all i have to do is adjust the L tracks and lift them up, and again the situation only got worse because they did so much force-ing it in one way and another way to see if you can get enough leverage to get it in so many times that one of the wings that extend out and engage with the " L " track (no sure why they call it an L track it looks more like a T track then an L track). But it's stuck in the extended position so even when i pull the lever up to release it. It doesn't retract so together with the foot that is rigid and protruding and the permanently engaged wing results in the divider getting locked into that position and the only way to get it out is to twist it out by pulling on the loose end and that almost rips the foot off but there's no other way to get it out when the arm is stuck engaged. I tried to remove the foot on that side and it's not removable due to the fasteners used. They are some types of rivets that cannot be removed without drilling them out. Second visit they failed again.
A new version of this thing was already available before my visit, and I suggested that i may need to get the new version for some reason that option was not considered instead they did some more monkeying around with the same one that didn't fit the last time and is not going to fit this time either. My next visit is nov.7
