Maybe, and then maybe not. The industry has evolved and accepted that pilots are actually human beings and sometimes need help with life, all without losing your job forever. I know quite a few pilots that have done things that, in the past, would have caused eternal industry unemployment. Some have benefited from the assistance, one went back to being an electrician and lost touch with all of us.

Another example, you can now get a waiver for certain “mental health medications” that will allow you to still fly.

It all depends on who the individual is, their history, and their willingness to accept the life preserver they may be offered.

It is unfortunate for him, but he is 63 and was approaching forced retirement soon anyway. Regardless, he clearly needs some time off. And a Cybertruck.

Absolutely. I wasn’t contesting his blame but he spent years getting to this point and something made him snap and now all that time and preparation are over. I have no problem reacting as you to white-collar crime but I have a special place for pilots.

I should be so lucky to be in that shape when I'm 63. Nice form with the swing, too.

When I first saw this I was expecting a real frustration articulated and not what it turned out to be. Now that we are in a time of compression frustration is palpable: lots of Cybertrucks being made and shipping out for testing (good news) but no announcement of the promised handover event and no news about the test results.

I would love to be able to say that I am fine with the wait but I actually am not. I should know better than to believe Elon when he said there would be a delivery event by the end of Q3 but everything has been happening so quickly since that announcement I really expected it to happen.
