Well, after 4.5 months of waiting I finally got my powershare install today. Except the hardware doesn’t work. Installer said it’s the 7th or 8th one from Tesla (out of 13 installs) that didn’t work.

This sounds like a real problem to me… anyone else have similar experience?

My understanding is that it still may need some software update or enabled from Tesla.
We got that update on Cybertruck already. Is there a software update on the PowerShare equipment too?

I am not sure. Have seen a couple threads on here talking about having Powershare installed but it is not working.

Can you explain in more detail how it is not working. I think there are a number of people on here that may be able to help.

when i test mine by turning off the main breaker, the cyberruck screen shows grid went down, and then it initiates powershare, turns on for 1/10 second, and fails. Screen in cybertruck then says retrying. Does this a few times till i give up watching.

when i test mine by turning off the main breaker, the cyberruck screen shows grid went down, and then it initiates powershare, turns on for 1/10 second, and fails. Screen in cybertruck then says retrying. Does this a few times till i give up watching.
That is not good. Maybe there are some things that need ironed out still in the software. Hope some people can chime in here that have it installed with software versions n' what not.

I wonder if it is the installer didn't set it up correctly. Tesla makes us use a Tesla certified installer, but most of the Tesla certified installers I've talked with have never had training or even installed a power share. A guy is coming today, and he talked like it would be very interesting to find out about installing a power share gateway. A real confidence builder....

I’ve had two Gateways damaged when they opened the box prior to install. Perhaps they aren’t noticing the damage and installing anyways? It’s a very heavy item and doesn’t seem packaged well enough.

First install attempt, the electrician drove an hour here and about 30 min into it, told me about the damage and they’d have to reschedule. I had tipped them when they got here so they could buy lunch when they were ready for it, so not sure if that helped honesty and extra attention or not.

They contacted Treehouse, the company Tesla paired me up with. About a month later, attempt 2 scheduled. The electrician sub-contractor called the morning of install and said this Gateway was also damaged, so they had to cancel the appointment.

Again, contacted Treehouse and they apologized again and said they are “working directly with Tesla regarding the repeatedly damaged equipment to find a remedy asap.”

You may have too much electrical load.
What if you flip off a bunch of circuits?

@bkandy3 , I'm ready to order my gateway now, but am curious what the process is. Should I just order it from the Tesla shop using my code and then contact the certified electrician? Or do I need to contact electrician first? Do I ship the gateway to my house or to the electrician's office? No idea how to go about it. Guidance is appreciated. Thanks!
