Did they say why? Or what the criteria is? Are they rolling it out like software updates? Seems odd to let you install thousands of dollars worth of equipment only to ransom the functionali... wait, nevermind. Forgot the company we're dealing with.

I'm in the same spot, everything installed for two weeks but the wall connector says it's offline (even though it's not), the gateway won't show me a firmware version, and I don't have the option to enable it in the Tesla app or the Truck.

Truck F/W 2024.14.5
UWC F/W 24.12.51
Tesla App Version 4.32.7
Gateway F/W "who the hell knows"
I was literally in this same state until today. Yesterday, my app was showing the wall connector offline for my Powershare setup, but today it suddenly started reporting correctly. Not sure what got it all sorted out, but it is now.

Mine was installed a week ago and I’m in the same boat as Synchronicity was/is. House is charging my car at the moment and see that in the app, but don’t see anything about PowerShare in Controls section. I’m going to sit tight for a while and see if it automagically updates in the next few weeks…and in the meantime hope the big one doesn’t finally hit (now I jinxed all of us in SoCal).

Did the setting just "appear" were you checking for it? Was it a software update?

Did you get any notification it was now enabled? As someone who had powershare installed a week ago im trying to figure out when/how I can make sure it gets enabled

It just appeared today in the app with a quick overview of it. Just opened the app and it was there. Went through the 5 information tabs and it activated under controls.

Mine took about a week after install and permit approval for the feature to activate. You will know when it’s active when you see a PowerShare tutorial upon logging into the app.

Did anyone get an email like this after excepting a quote from an installer?
Do they even have a clue? If I could get the hardware ahead of time I would have it installed for half the price!

Hello Donald,

I saw that you have selected the bid for your installation. Do you have the hardware ready to go for installation?

Best,

They had to move my meter to make room for an emergency cutoff and install the gateway. There are two breakers in the emergency cutoff, one feeds the dryer circuit and the other feeds gateway. Everything except the dryer is backed up. We'll see if the truck can provide enough amperage to start the AC compressor.
Was the truck able to provide enough amperage to start the AC compressor? Getting my PowerShare installed now and trying to decide if we should backup the AC.

Oddly, it did in the morning when the temperatures were a bit cooler. It couldn't start it during the afternoon hours. I may get a soft start installed at some point but we were able to get by with a small spot cooler.

Was the air conditioner running before the power switchover in both cases? Usually, there is a built in delay before attempting restart, but without that they may have abnormally high starting current.

No. It started and stopped a couple times before the temp hit up.

Oh, gotcha. You switched to Powershare in the morning, left it running, and it worked for a while then later couldn't handle AC startup?

Decided to NOT install powershare after speaking with my installer. He said the city would not approve the load because of dryer and oven on the circuit and too hard to move from subpanel.

Installer was really cool, going to use him to install another wall charger. Our power has only gone out 3 time in almost 20 years. $4100 for that protection just not worth it, he agreed. I can easily run extension cables to my refrigerators in a emergency.

Now the surprising insight. I told him that the price for install was ridiculously. He also agreed and said, we don't get to quote the price Tesla Qmerit set the prices for install! He said it's a ripoff.

Going to use my $2500 to purchase some cool stuff for my Cybertruck and model S.

I can always buy a powershare gateway at a later time when this nonsense ripoff is over. Going to install the universal wall charger that's compatible with powershare so that part will be done.

Going to spend my voucher fast before Tesla decides to change the rules again. I love my new truck but Tesla really needs to work on customer communication. Reminds me of the old saying "fire, ready, aim"
