yikes that's a lot. My quote was like $3500 but when they were done, only charged $3090. In Columbus OH

$3,900 installed here in Connecticut.
Included rewiring generator connections and 85' run of 4 AWG cable in conduit from main panel to garage
Works flawlessly - power cut out ther other day, we had 5+ days of power in reserve with truck at 80% SOC
Only one Tesla certified provider for entire State

I was over $6,600 in NJ.

But got educated and had a 50 amp generator inlet with lockout installed for $1,500. Then bought a generator cable for ~$200. Already tested feeding power from the 240 outlet in the truck bed to the house, easy as can be and saved me $5K on the install PLUS I get to keep my $2,500 voucher for shop goodies. Yes, it's more manual, but saving $7,500 is not nothing to me.

This was/still is my plan as well. Having the generator inlet provides a lot of flexibility that is (1) not dependent on Tesla and (2) not dependent on the truck sitting parked there - what if you have to go somewhere? Then you lose all power? WTF is that?

Sure, you could get Powerwalls, but that gets pricey. A generator inlet and a big rolling battery is much cheaper, much more flexible and if the rolling battery dies you just get another one. No need for electricians, etc.

Here in Michigan, I was initially contacted by Qmerit for pictures of my meters and panels, then they contacted a local installer. The local installer spoke with me on the phone to clarify information about my charging and panel/meter locations. My house is a little complex. We have 3 meters for different rates. One for Geothermal, one for car charging, and one for the house. In the car charging panel, we have a 100A going to a Gen 1 wall charger, and a 50A going to a NEMA 14-50, both in the garage. My plan was to use the 50A 6ga line for the power share and disconnect it from the car charging panel. I could charge my truck on the house main panel via the power share charger, or the car charging panel via the wall charger (eventually getting 2 new wall chargers on the 100A circuit). My local installer quoted a "worst case scenario", where they would have to run new power and communications cable from the garage to the basement panels at $7,196.83, minus the $4000 credit for a total of $3,196.83. They said they'll schedule an electrician to come out and take a look at our setup, so it will probably be less than the worst case scenario.

But my quote was $3,500 in North Carolina. Very honest electrician however
