Predicted Cybertruck Pricing

I took a look across all of teslas vehicles and came up with a decent pricing prediction based on what everything else is priced at. Feel free to leave your thoughts but i can see this being the actual final pricing based on what the lineup pricing is currently at. I think it would be fair to say that the cybertruck would be less expensive than the two top dogs S & X but more expensive than the Y & 3.

S PLAID PRICING: $130K
X PLAID PRICING: $126K

Y PERFORMANCE: $64K
3 PERFORMANCE: $59K

CYBERTRUCK PLAID: $90K-$110K
QUAD MOTOR NONE PLAID: $70K- $80K

I'm most curious about the dual motor option. The last announced price was under $50k, which is $11,000 LESS than the current price of a dual motor Model Y. At this point I have zero hope that there won't be a BIG price jump.

I really want a Cybertruck. But (after current rebates) an R1T now costs less than an entry level Model Y. If pricing for the Cybertruck goes where I think it is, then I may have to consider other options.

Why are you comparing prices to a year ago when supply was limited to a year from now when supply will no longer be limited?

Tesla has always made their price targets, plus ten to twenty k for features not in the original prototype (such as performance packages, seat material upgrades).

Perhaps the Plaid version will be $35k more, like the S and X, but whatever it will be is exceeding the specs of the original prototype.

I don't think the quad motor and rear-wheel steering will exceed trimotor pricing; Tesla wants to beat the competition, not just make money. Following previous patterns, they would only put these in if they could figure out how to do it by saving parts.

So no price increases is my bet. At least for early reservations.

Personally, I don't think pricing will go back down once the supply chain issues clear up. I think they will simply level off and hold. I think that's true for everyone, not just Tesla. I know in my industry there has been no talk of lowering prices after the supply chain improves. We're just hoping we don't have to continue raising prices.

MYLR is $59k - $9k higher than the quoted Dual Motor price 2 years ago ($50k) and $8k less than the Explore package R1T ($67k).

Or am I missing something?

Tbf when Elon first talked about the tri-motor pricing he was like, "yeah it's quite a bit more so will have to think of some extra features for that one." (or something like that somewhere in the first Rogan podcast I think.)

I'm just going to take that as gospel that he was hinting at an extra motor lmao.

Yeah, no one talks about it. There is some amount of ratcheting, especially if there isn't good churn or competition.

But Tesla has always been very responsive to demand and Elon has always talked the talk of only making as much money as they needed to get the next thing out - and no more. Affordability increases his goal of getting more BEVs into more people's hands.

You are correct my mistake. When I opened the Model Y page it was automatically configured with turbine wheels which added $2000. I didn't notice that. I just saw the area below with the arrow.

I would absolutely love if the Dual AWD stayed under $60k, but my guess is that it will be priced around $70k. I doubt the Cybertruck will be cheaper than the Model Y, and the Ford F-150 Lariat is ~$70k (pre dealership markup).

Based on that, I would guess:
Dual AWD - $70k
Quad AWD - $90k
Quad Plaid - $100-110k (if this is going to be a different version of the quad)

I just don't see Tesla selling any model of the Cybertruck for cheaper than a Model Y. Hopefully at the Q4 Earnings Call we hear that pricing stays roughly the same as was mentioned at the reveal, but I just don't think that's going to happen.

Tesla will most likely slot Cybertruck pricing between the Model Y and Model S. Be prepared to hold on to your checkbooks. Tesla will justify the higher MSRP’s because of more standard features.

I'm with Crissa, I think plaid will be a high number, from there, it will likely match their 'advertised' prices.

Jacking prices up after the fact isn't a good look. They have always hit their targets before, and I'm hoping out hope CT is the same.

I'd wager that the CyberTruck will be less than any comparable competitor's vehicle. What that means when the CyberTruck's 0-60 is sub 3 seconds?!? I don't know. But if Ford, or GM put out a $40k base truck, I think Tesla will undercut them. (BTW if $F or $GM do sell anywhere near those prices, they'll lose money on every unit sold, whereas $TSLA would make a profit at those prices)

Chevy has kind of revealed that a truck comparable to to a dual motor CyberTruck will cost their customers $105k. ? Tesla can beat that easy!
