MY now eligible for 1.99% up to 72mo. Not bad. Come on CT! Not sure why they think the lease deals do much. Do that many people actually lease a vehicle?

I can’t image CT is far behind, especially with the new Juniper up for 1.99%.

I actually looked it up and it seems like about 25% of people lease their vehicles so I can’t imagine the lease deals are moving the needle much.

I was holding off for a good finance deal also…..but I bit at the lease deal when it came out. Hedging my bet just in case the CT really flops and values tank. Don’t think that will happen but who knows. Also I’m not patient, lol.

I am actually toying with the lease. I want a Cyberbeast so I have to at least lease initially to get the $7500. The lease rate actually comes out to about 3.5% on some of the 2024 discounted models in my zip. Not bad but I would still end up paying more money in interest overall if I didn't buyout immediately.

The only finance deal that will beat a lease buyout right now with 4.49% at 60 months from Navy Federal is a 0% APR offer. Not sure if that is coming so I may not be waiting too much longer.

Cyber beast is awesome, but I can’t even imagine using that speed….my standard AWD is faster than anything I have ever owned….(and I’ve had multiple modded corvettes and mustangs)
I have it and I have to admit I’ve only launched it one time in almost a year of ownership. It’s cool but even for somebody who’s a speed freak like me it’s hard to justify it as a absolute need. Even Kyle Connor is like, “Yeah you don’t need it and if I get a new one it’s gonna be AWD.”

I don’t think I could bring myself to have less power. And though I’ll almost certainly never do it in the back of my mind I’m always thinking about someday when I want to do a resto mod and have the fastest possible motors I’m going to regret not having gotten Whatever the Best is when I swap it into a ‘74 Camaro or something.

Physical locking front and rear just can’t be understated though.

Beast has physical front locker, and I'm not sure what performance people think a software based rear locker leaves on the table.
Every video I’ve seen critiquing it has shown that both Rivian and Tesla struggle in instances where a physical locker does not. I’m not an expert by any stretch.

More to the point I personally don’t care I’m rarely in a situation where locking diff in my FJ is a make or break need. The FJ has locking in the rear and a track in the front so it still doesn’t have two lockers. The cyber beast has locking in the front and vectoring in the rear.

But @mongo, you’re the first person I’ve ever heard suggest that they are equivalent.

Oh, I wouldn't say they are equivilent. I think the dual motor drive unit is better. The only possible advantage I see to a locking rear is that you could put all the motor torque into one wheel versus the Beast setup where you can only put the torque of the half drive unit into the wheel. However, that theoretically situation requires that the single rear motor has higher torque than the half and that the half drive unit's torque is less than the tire's traction. If the Beast can break traction, then the situation doesn't apply.

Of course, implement is critical to performance.

I think you're missing a bit of nuance. Although, yes, the Beast can do torque vectoring, and each half has enough power to get you over 99.9% of obstacles... It's nowhere near the level of control or smoothness that a mechanical locker gets you.

For example, if I'm driving up a steep trail off road, and a rear tire suddenly gets lifted or finds itself in mud, the Beast will have to sense slip before forcing more power to the opposing motor. Yes, I know about the software "locker", but those don't work nearly as well as advertised, even on Rivian's well-tuned Quad Motor setup.

After it senses slip, and increases output to the opposing motor, it should be able to get past the obstacle... but not before the feeling of hesitation. With the locker engaged, as long as one wheel has traction, you're making it up the slope without any kind of hesitation, jerkiness, or waiting for computer input. Or on a particularly bad obstacle, the user/driver will add more throttle input, the opposing rear motor will increase torque to get over the obstacle, and it will suddenly get over the obstacle with more power than intended, rocketing you forward, which is annoying at best and dangerous at worst.

Listing variations and discounts skew the numbers on Tesla-info but looks like inventory is at an all time high. I am surprised we aren’t seeing better discounts or promo APR again yet.

I just went to Tesla new and used Cybertrucks and saw no new numbers, I checked only a few minutes before you made this post.

I am seeing more Cybertrucks on the road (east bay) then before, but it would be nice to see them as often as Prius and regular Tesla cars.

Near me listings do seem increased but a source I follow claims CT production has been basically halted to sell through all 2024 backlog first, it would certainly make sense as we are moving into May and 2024s are still sitting.

Supposedly inventory doubled to around 10k trucks now based on a 3rd party inventory tracker. Huge inventory bump for everything except new MY. If that is accurate, I expect a good incentive.

I really don't think the current lease promo for AWD is doing much, especially when the majority of 2024 AWDs in my area aren't even eligible for a lease. I really thought we might see a free supercharging offer for all 2024 inventory but seems like they are trying hold onto that lever for FS only.

I'm ready to buy as soon as the deal hits, just still torn between AWD and Beast.

Overpriced! Would have sold 250,000+ by now if they stuck to the plan.
