Seeing the real world results i think this product was over promised and misrepresented. Made out to look like a piece of cake instead of being honest and upfront about challenges real world CT owners would face trying to apply this crap. The whole point of the stainless steel no paint exterior is to not have to fuck with it. This is just a stupid money grab
Just like the Cybertruck itself, right?

Who shit in your bed?

Just finished applying it. It was definitely tricky and a lot of work. I had to do three coats to get rid of most of the rainbowing but didn't quite get it all. It's good enough that I'm happy with it now even though there are a few spots that dripped a little. Sadly there are also a couple spots that I didn't get clean enough before hand since I had to move into the garage and the lighting wasn't good enough to see them.
I also found that the second and third coats got tacky almost immediately after applying making it harder to do those coats.

First two pictures are finished results. Then what it looked like at three coats, two coats, and one coat. And finally the before picture after just the soap and water cleaning.

Really helpful seeing the results after 1-3 coats. Thank you for taking the time posting it here!

I purchased the kit and haven’t had a chance to apply it yet. I planned on using painters tape around the trim. Hadn’t thought of using the plastic to help catch drips. Is that a product or just trash bags ripped up? I’m a novice on projects like this.

It's 1 mil drop sheeting. Find it at any hardware stores painting section. I think I got a single 10ft by 20ft roll for like $7 and used about 2/3 the roll.

Do others assessments and opinions hurt you feelings?
Nope. I was OK with your assessment, right up until you claimed, "This is just a stupid money grab.".

The product is not for me. It looks accurate that the product is a bit tricky to apply. Yes, it requires real work. But it looks like once it's properly applied, it serves a purpose, for some people, even if not for me. It may be "stupid" for you, but calling it a "stupid money grab" assumes that since you can see no value in it, nobody will.

It's even possible the product is misguided, maybe in time it will not be durable enough to be worthwhile for anyone, I don't know, but even that wouldn't make it a "money grab", it would make it a poor product. And we don't even know that will be the case.

You do understand that "Alpine" is a Troll? If you look at his comments throughout this forum every single one is negative, critical, or contrary to the spirit of this website. He doesn't own a CyberTruck, hates all things Elon or Tesla. Arguing with him is like feeding Bears in Yellowstone. "DON'T FEED THE TROLL!" ;)

What type of applicator did you use?
