Wowzers. I guess the vault is raccoon proof! Hopefully that trim piece isn't too expensive to replace.

Those paw prints are awfully large compared to your hands there....either you have huge raccoons in MN or there's another larger critter....seen any bears around?

Yeah, those do look like huge prints in the picture, but they were actually a series of smaller prints that were smeared. It was quite wet in the area.

Those are obviously kids' hands you are comparing to. A bear would have peeled it open like a can of sardines in about ten seconds.

That's crazy! Would have never guessed that type of damage from a coon. I guess you have to prep the food over night like you're backpacking with a hanging food stuff bag or bear canister (if you've gone backpacking). Glad I saw your post as I prob would have left some stuff in the vault post trip to eat before hitting the road.

Hope you're able to get this fixed quickly and for a reasonable price. Follow up with the repair bill if you have time.

Raccoons tried to enter vault overnight while camping in Minnesota!

Wow, glad it wasn't a bear. Damage would have been worse.
Lesson learned where NOT to store food while camping.

Sorry about the damage. Looks like an easy fix.

Maybe they need to consider making that trim piece out of aluminum or stainless as well. However I can understand the weight considerations and decisions Tesla had to make.

Was any food in the vault that the raccoons likely smelled? There will always be low incidence break-in attempts by animals in wild wood areas I guess. Animal repellent sprayed on parts of the Cybertruck when camping might not be a bad idea. The raccoons were actually smart to perceive that was a possible point of entry.
