Truck has been in development since 2019They will, but we have to be patient. They need a LOT of data to determine how safe it is to crank up the level 3 juices.
I agree however, that fast charging will decrease battery life , I think the reason why they pulled the plug on it because it would take too long to charge up the extra pack to 100% and a supercharge stationTruck has been in development since 2019
Truck was delivered starting in 2023
Time for some results, especially with the range extender rug pull. Let us at least charge at a semi reasonable speed
I believe the 2WD shed 700 lbs and the range is not much more thanI never thought this was a good idea because it was too expensive, too big, too heavy, and you only get 100 more miles of range (so they say), probably more like 80. I think that you have to sacrifice some range to gain more because you add a lot of weight to an already heavy vehicle. It doesn't make sense. A better way to extend the range is to lose some weight. I hope someone will try this; I mean, really get rid of all unnecessary weight and show how much the range has improved. Drive appropriately, plan the route, and the time. I guarantee you will extend the range. Start with the extra seats as much as you dare to. You don't believe me? Try it yourself; it works for all moving objects. Get off your ass and off the web, do some exercise, and see if by losing weight you don't extend your range.

Since we know that it’s not really a true exoskeleton, I wonder if there’s enough frame underneath the HFS steel to be structurally sound with enough safety margin to swap out all of the panels of the vehicle for carbon fiber? Off-topic I know but I’ve always wondered if it would be possible. In fact, I thought that’s what Shaq had done to his until somebody corrected me.I never thought this was a good idea because it was too expensive, too big, too heavy, and you only get 100 more miles of range (so they say), probably more like 80. Get ready for Hauling to argue semantics over the word exoskeleton.Since we know that it’s not really a true exoskeleton, I wonder if there’s enough frame underneath the HFS steel to be structurally sound with enough safety margin to swap out all of the panels of the vehicle for carbon fiber?
I believe I read that Jack had that truck built with carbon fiber panels, but I don’t know the true story. I don’t know how much that would save.In weightSince we know that it’s not really a true exoskeleton, I wonder if there’s enough frame underneath the HFS steel to be structurally sound with enough safety margin to swap out all of the panels of the vehicle for carbon fiber? Driving into the mountains with a trailer, across the state of Texas, and towing a trailer around to a bunch of campouts does not make this a “cruise around town” truck. Sorry, that’s just not right. But okay.Exactly my point.
If you use the CT as an around-town SUV the range is fine.
If you are towing and think supercharging for 90mins is "fine" so you can make it 120 miles to the next supercharger then you and I disagree on that.
Lol. I don’t have to, since I literally cannot see any of his posts. Not because I’ve muted him or anything like that, but because either he requested or admin (on their own) decided that we we’re too volatile of a combination - so, he literally does not exist on this forum for me!Get ready for Hauling to argue semantics over the word exoskeleton.
For most, it's not practical to tow long distances in a CT. It's more expensive and takes much longer than an ICE equivalent. I just rented a truck to tow. I rarely ever do it, so not a big deal for me.Driving into the mountains with a trailer, across the state of Texas, and towing a trailer around to a bunch of campouts does not make this a “cruise around town” truck. The most I ever charged was 70 minutes. That was so I could hit 200+ miles from Farmington NM to Albuquerque. That was dumb because I purposely went the more direct route with no chargers instead of going through an extra stop. That was my fault, not the truck’s.
Bottom line, you and I agree that if all you do is tow and drive long distances on a daily basis, then this truck probably isn’T for you. But just because it can’t do that doesn’t mean it’s just an around town vehicle.
