Anyone else experience the rear drive inverter fail?

I have 7100 miles on a dual motor. It failed when coming to a stop during regen. It disabled the rear motor and I was limited to 51 mph. Took a week to repair. I have an early vin. Just curious if this has happened to others

Thanks in advance
I have a buddy that this happened to. I don’t know the VIN, but the SC here keeps moving his appt. He’s been waiting for weeks.

Tesla really has got to improve their SC and customer service. I hear stories from my local community and it sometimes is a total nightmare. Quick to take the money when vehicle is bought, but getting them to fix issues is such a hassle. Idk why he has to wait over a month for a fix.

Took the CT into service on Wednesday morning, apparently they will replace the rear drive unit inverter. They had the part so are installing today, should get it back by COB Friday, let’s see

Same Happened to me. Rear motor disabled. VIN 24xx, between 10k-11k miles.

Service center replaced the rear drive inverter. After replacing, they still had issues passing testing.

They said the new inverter was not passing testing and they needed more time. Next day they fixed it, saying that:
"The low voltage system needed to be reset and coolant purged. The firmware was then reinstalled and everything is now working properly."

"We do not know why the firmware failed and the issue has been resolved. We do not expect it to happen again. We don't know why the drive inverter failed but it is being sent back to factory to be diagnosed."

But honestly I am worried this can happen again randomly, since some of you are experiencing this too. And they didn't say anything about a defective drive inverter or improved one.

Just a follow up on mine. I got the rear drive unit disabled error on Tuesday morning, drove it straight to the service center closest to me when it happened where they diagnosed it that day as a rear drive unit inverter failure. They called the next morning (Wednesday) and said they would have it done the following day and I picked it back up Thursday around noon. Roughly a 48 hour turnaround, which was quite impressive to me. Cedar Springs location in Dallas were the ones who took care of me.

Great. I am glad they did a rapid turnaround. I am taking my CT tomorrow for this issue.

Follow up on my story. I dropped of the truck, got a loaner, a Model S. I was in and out within 15 minutes. The truck was repaired as estimated in two days.
The issue was the rear drive inverter. See Service note below.:
Correction: Rear Drive Inverter - Drive Inverter - Remove and Replace Parts Replaced or Added Part Quantity ASSEMBLY - DRIVE INVERTER 4DU(1802305-4A-B) 1.00 Correction: Cooling System (Vacuum Refill) Pay Type: Basic Vehicle Limited Warranty

It was a good service experience overall on this one.

I just got this error today. Is this the same problem? I get a prompt to accept the override whenever I drive using the buttons on the mirror. Then the screen flashes red to pull over immediately. I have only tried to move slow to change parking spaces so not sure if the speed is limited to less than 50 mph as the other problem mentioned here.
