So wait... What is that behind the fold down arm rest of the back seat? Is that a passthrough to the truck bed?
there is no pass through or other access from cab to bed

that hole cut presumably was for sensor/cabling that was mounted in bed during testing. in the bed photos, drill/screw holes can be seen, presumably for sensor sleds etc.

see eg from the April fool’s crash video: the sensor sled mounted in bed, with all the sensor cabling running on the exterior of the truck - in places you can’t have it during a rollover test

I think GM is thinking, they pay for Batteries (450 miles) and development and try to recoup their money for a low volume car back by wrapping you around with a warm and fuzzy feeling of luxury. You can't see the battery but if you see a lot of pixels you may be willing to pay for it.

Our vacation property's AC is on the fritz and last week we had to become refugees in the local public library. That cool air was the true feeling of luxury for me. Luxury is often more about the meaning of something to the buyer than it is cost of it to the seller.
Having the AC on Fritz sounds like an anti-middle European WW2 slur. Why does Fritz have to carry a fan around for you? ?

But seriously, pixels sell, because people spend so much time on them writing rubbish (like this post) because it gives them a response, that they are lacking in reality.

Too much of life is happening online, and because of that our perception of value can easily be satisfied by looking at pictures of what other people experience.

Our memories can often be easily tricked, in that our visual cortex is the primary recording device of our environment. Thats why your memory of a video is not that dissimilar from the memory of a real thing.

So the "perceived luxury" of pixels is its ability to show you whatever you choose. Even the things you don't need, or can't afford. Let alone impress you with dreams and ideas you never had.

You don't generally wear masks around people in your circle, unless isolating.

Masking is more likely to protect others than yourself. And the longer you're around someone in closed spaces, the less the mask can help.

With FSD, you could have your windshield, roof and side windows as pixels too. Your trip to work in Jersey could go through Maui (with an advertisement in the corner of each screen of course).

Now that we are going down that rabbit hole, one thing that concerns me the most about our connected reality is the cost that comes with all the benefits. Through our screens we give as much access as we get (with every selection and with every choice). The aggregate data collected makes us more predictable and easily manipulated to the point that in not a distant future, a choice will be only an illusion. 99% of all votes and purchases can be programmed while we all think we are a part of that special 1%.

I promise I will unplug that cable from back of my head as soon as I finish typing this.

Okay, an 8" screen is about ten or twenty bucks. Probably cheaper for Tesla.

Oh boy, 8 inch is veritable multimedia room quality. When I was young (damn I hate saying that), the big thing was the TV watch. Analog, but with a color screen.

And good old 80's advertising it seems. After all, this is probably the only way the watch owner was going to see a female breast.

Anyway, an 8 inch square screen in the car would like quadruple the size of those breasts so that is certainly worth quite a pretty sum.

I don't remember exactly when but it was shortly after CyberRodeo - so Spring-Summer 2021. This might have been the CT that Franz drove onto the stage and Elon drove off.
can't believe it's been 2 years already since we have seen the production version prototype. It felt like only 8-9 months ago seeing that square mirror version prototype.

I get that some people don't see my sarcasm streak coming though so I'm not too surprised that you are questioning it.
You should just change your nick to "FutureBoy/s"

Quick correction - CyberRodeo was in 2022, not 2021; so it's been just over a year. I've edited my statement as well.
