To be clear, people are suggesting that sitting in sunshine is causing it, but a heat gun is going to be able to heat it a lot hotter than the most intense sun rays.
My CT is unwrapped and garage kept in Chicago, far from hot temps and passanger side flew off. Just a crap design, my SC appointment is tomorrow, cant wait to see what they will do if the official fix is not available till April?

So what has been falling off the CT? Seems to be a failing of a glue system, and some news reports say that stainless panels have fallen off. Surely the large sheets of stainless are not just attached with glue? It is a long way to the Dealer, and I don't want to do that if there is no actual problem developing.

Same situation here, I didn’t receive any email or notification from Tesla yet.

I don't have time to go over the past 17 pages of this thread so if this has been addressed before, my apologies. It seems that I am on solid legal ground to say that, at least in NY, if their defect causes you to have to rewrap any part of your Cybertruck, they are responsible for the cost.

Mine do not feel loose when pressing on them so I’m not super concerned but will have it replaced when I get notified from Tesla. I think it was primarily effecting those in colder climates if I’m not mistaken.

I’m in Chicago too. I assume your garage is not heated? I’m August delivery, 9000 miles, 26k vin. Still seems solid Did you inspect it before it failed?

Did it go from all good to flying off in a short time?

thanks

I’ve only been subjected to below freezing temps while driving and a couple nights. Hope it holds up for a bit!

Newsmax just reported that Tesla is going to be ready recalling over 46k cybertrucks..

Tesla to Recall Over 46,000 Cybertrucks Over Exterior Panel Issue

March 20, 2025

Tesla said on Thursday it is recalling 46,096 Cybertruck vehicles in the U.S. over an exterior panel that can detach while driving, after more than six call-backs for the pickups last year.

Tesla is recalling the vehicles over issues of the cant rail — a stainless-steel exterior trim panel — delaminating and detaching from the vehicle, it said.

As a remedy, Tesla service will replace the rail assembly free of charge.

For those with wraps... Being that is says they will replace "assembly" i wonder if that means the are simply reattaching the existing rail? if that is the case then there would be NO need to re-wrap..

Can anyone confirm?

Would you say that the adhesive is brittle? Did it lose its bond with the stainless or is there fracturing in the adhesive?
I just zoomed in on my cantrail and my bonding has some rubber band texture to it.

Lost its bond with the steel, the glue almost felt rubbery.. I actually took the piece to Naperville SC and asked them to glue it back on, but they told me entire assembly has to be replaced..
