But here are some photos courtesy of @Sirfun of the Peterson prototype, and the thickness of metal the body parts are made of.

Why would a Chinese magazine know?

No. It's probably not in the current production plans in the form as originally rendered, because the shape of the truss is different than it was.

And while I would have liked it, I want a stiffer, stronger, more durable truck most of all.

It’s an official Tesla publication, not just a normal magazine. So the idea they would know more than most is not far fetched.

Sail pillar storage was in the original plans. I seriously doubt they’d have added it to begin with if it compromised the strength.

Not sure it’ll be in production either, but it’s very curious seeing it pop up in a magazine as we’re getting close to production start and we’re seeing so many other sightings. Particularly since the public sightings seem to suggest it’s gone.

Aftermarket will likely make custom inserts for specialised sport packages.

Recovery gear as Ogre mentioned.
Gun rack and portable hide
Sport climbing organisation rack
Bicycle maintenance module.
Tool rack for motorcycle/ATV
Fold out camp kitchen.
Cybertackle box to go with the rods…

It’s going to be super interesting see the customisations people come up with.
