Then you see some kid half-heartedly throw a spark at it, and it's toast! Why?
At least two things:

not all OEM glass is the same

separately, the trick with a spark plug (or any other hard material) is for it to make contact at a pointy tip bit.

It’s why emergency auto glass breakers all look like this at the business end

Tesla Cybertruck Steel Ball Thrown at Cybertruck Window (Glass Strength Test) IMG_8490

Nice man, make a video chucking a ball bearing at your Lightning. Prove all those tzla goobers wrong. You can do it 💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪
“tzla goobers” don’t need help with that

clearly

Not as large of a steel ball as in the original reveal, but nonetheless impressive if it was indeed solid steel. I hope it wasn't some plastic chrome ball, or hollow steel ball somewhat lighter. If it was a legit solid steel ball then again it was an impressive demonstration. But since the glass apparently got chipped a little by the second throw, the ball was likely fairly heavy.

I would've preferred they demonstrate breaking a normal junk car window with the steel ball first, then retrieving it with the same camera constantly on it, and then taking same steel ball and throwing it at the Cybertruck window immediately afterwards. I might've even included a scale to show the weight of the steel ball.

I see no problem with checking the weight of my balls before they're put to the test.

Glass is very strong, until it's not.

Ever used a glass cutter? Make a tiny little scratch, tap it, and plink it fractures. The crystalline structure is what gives glass its strength, but violate that structure even a little and the whole thing falls apart.

Can I ask: Has a hand-tossed baseball ever broken a car window? It seemed like a pretty lame demonstration at the delivery event. I'm surprised they even took the time to recreate it on this video.

The steel was impressive tho

I'd like to see two trucks, only one of them a Cybertruck, parked at the bottom of a sloping parking lot. Then send shopping carts into them, one after another, going higher and higher on the starting point and adding weight into the cart. No shopping carts with protective plastic bumpers, only old-school all-metal ones.

After about 20 impacts the non-Tesla truck would be a mess, the Cybertruck would look good as new.

Some physics to consider :

According to Tesla engineering - - they have withstood 60J of energy. Using KE formula = 0.5 * m * v2 you can see how the engineer arrives at 65mph / 29 meters per sec baseball that officially weighs around 142 grams (0.5 * 0.142 * 29.052 = 60).[use metric units for these numbers, meaning kg and meters/sec). Don’t know the diameter of the steel ball used here but it looks to be about 2 inches? Apparently a 2in steel ball weighs 1.19 pounds - https://www.amazon.com/Inch-Chrome-Steel-Bearing-Balls/dp/B007B2A3VQ. So that means we have to solve for velocity in the equation 60=0.5 * 0.54 * v2. Resulting in 14.9 meters per second or 33 miles per hour. How fast did he throw that ball in his 3rd and hardest throw you figure ?

CRITICAL THINKING ALSO AMAZING

Basically any OEM window behaves the same wa

Things the sort of Tesla fanboi marketing that makes people look like they don’t know anything about cars while simultaneously going to the mat that [insert here] is uniquely amazing about Tesla/Cybertruck

in other words, does more harm to Tesla/Cybertruck than good, because is makes it seem that the only people who think the Cybertruck is an impressive product are dupes

nevermind me, I’m sure it’s already trending on $TSLA xwitter
If you hit the corner of the window, it will break easily. That's the weakness of riot glass.
