In the RV world its handy to have more than one use for items you lug around.

The BAW, would make a handy cricket bat, Putter, fishing rod. Brilliant.

What makes you feel the Frunk will be 1/3 of the Lightning? Based on the pics I have seen recently I don't get that feeling. Much will have to do with how far back it goes under the dash. The width looks impressive though but not sure how much the castings will narrow that down.

After all the videos and leaks from the past week I am trying to get a summary of features and functions and group them into “likely, unlikely, and unknown” based on the hints we have.

Obviously this is all speculation and nothing is final until it ships.

***italicized items added based on comments

Likely
  • Powered and sealed tonneau cover
  • 120v outlet at bed (based on the size of the door cutout)
  • Frunk (with good/low accessibility)
  • Ventilated seats
  • 4 wheel steering
  • Sub trunk in bed
  • Powered tailgate Auto drop/dampened tailgate
  • Push button doors handles
  • Tie down points and e-track L-track rails
  • HW4 w/ bumper cam
  • Yoke steering wheel
  • BAW
  • NACS charge port w/ cool CT logo and sealed access door
  • Steer by wire
  • Oh shucks grab handles
  • Adaptive air suspension
  • Armored glass on side windows

Unlikely
  • Folding Midgate
  • Driver display
  • 6 seat option
  • Spare tire location

Unknown
  • Midgate window operation
  • Power outlets in frunk
  • 240V outlet
  • Air compressor outlet
  • Side sail storage
  • Tailgate ramp
  • Powered frunk
  • Armored glass on windshield
  • Rear seat features (folding, storage, etc)
  • Rear seat display/controls
  • High def radar
  • Light bars in the bed
  • Light bar at the top of windshield
  • Powered tailgate closing (updated from comments)
  • W/L/H in units of chickens

I did this from memory so chime in if I got it wrong or missed a feature!
Need FSD 4K cameras with sound. want to tape sound, when stopped by anyone.

I'd like this too. Unfortunately the cars that have already shipped with HW4 still lack audio recording. I suppose it could be added anytime with an update, but it doesn't seem to be a priority.

More distressing is that early reports of HW4 Sentry Mode suggest it has not been optimized at all, and actually consumes more power. Wtf?

That's sad, maybe not. We'll see.

I would add these items that were promised at the unveiling (or shortly thereafter):

Unlikely
  • 500+ mile range
  • Tailgate backstop for 8' loads

  • Angry

I didn't want this thread to turn into a price/range debate so I purposefully omitted "the big ones" and just focused on the other features.

Fair enough, but that still leaves the tailgate backstop for 8 ft. loads (like 4x8 sheets of dry wall or plywood). My GMC Sierra (they call it a "load stop") has that and Elon promised we would have it on the Cybertruck, but I haven't seen any sign of it on the prototypes. If we aren't getting the tailgate ramp, I would hope that we would at least get the backstop.

honestly the back stop is irrelevant to me... if the truck will drive with the tailgate down.. and it comes with the <i think f rails> on the bed.. it will take MAYBE an hour for an aftermarket builder to have a backstop that locks into those rails.

That is one advantage of tesla with them using actual standards for things.. and letting the vendors KNOW what they are using they don't have to build all the goodies.. just make the base .. and let aftermarket companies finish fun details.

Fortunately, as we have seen in other Tesla models, many of the items on the list can be provided or given work-arounds by after-market suppliers, at additional cost.

I wouldn't say 500 mile range is unlikely at all. Tesla is likely to use two layers of 100kwh batteries, and with 200kwh, the CT could easily hit the 500 mile mark.
