This is good news in that it shows Tesla is continuing to accept new orders, that they haven't hit any production snags that prevent continuing deliveries.
Yes, good that they haven't stopped the invitations. At least for those who were skipped up until now. But not good for those of us who were hoping that Tesla would continue up to our RNs.

The other cool thing with having the company buy it is that after the tax credit the remaining purchase price of the vehicle is a tax write-off under Section 179. Furthermore, if Congress passes the current comprimise bill to bring back 100% bonus depreciation then I can write off the entire purchase price of the vehicle on my 2024 taxes which will save me a boat load of money.
You don't need to company buy. As long as your personal vehicle over 6000lb has more than 50% business usage, you are qualify section 179 ( top at 30500 write off) + bonus depreciation on the remaining value ( 60% for year of 2024) + regular first year MARCS double lining depreciation. So for the $112k vehicle including tax with 100% business usage, it will be close to $95k write off just in the year of 2024, the remaining $17k can be fully write of after 5 years.

Well, here is my response.
First, we have inflation. Unlike the demand for S3XY lineup, there are only a few Pickup EV's and NONE even close to the CT. Unless there is a flaw that causes them to fall out of favor, with all the reservations, demand will be strong and so will prices. Inflation and competitors will keep the CT price high and if the $7,500 gift is not in play now or later ... why wait?
It seems to me that software updates, which happened on my 2019 X markedly changed and improved the car in so many ways ... range was only one of them.
My 2023 X did not have FSD because it is Hardware 4 so I went without FSD for several months. Now I have it and hope v12 will be here soon!
Yeah, it does cost more but I cannot get the EV Credit anyway, and I figured it was worth a few thousand to get all the options ... plus a 3-5k premium to be closer to the front of the line.
Looking at getting a PebbleFlow and checking out for a few months on the road.
Just my 2 cents!

Yes, that ?. Partly why I really don't mind the FS price premium or even the 2019-2023 price hike that much, it's going to do me a massive favor on my taxes.

Hello everyone,
I know I have been complaining that Tesla passed me up on the reservation list.
Well! I just got the invitation to purchase the FS version. It looks like Tesla is starting back at the top of the list and hitting up on the reservations that they passed over for the FS. I would love to accommodate this invitation, but really don't want to pay this $20K +tax = $1200($6000 (instead of $4800))+$7500 (tax credit lose). This means I will pay $28,700 more for the FS model. I will get about FSD (which I have currently and don't really use much), some accessories, House Power share (cost me $4000 to hook up) and a badge. Maybe worth a total of $18,000 MAX. So about $2000 I would normally want to order after purchase of Standard CT.
So, $28,700 - $2000 accessories = $26,700 extra for the FS.
IS IT REALLY WORTH IT?
Waiting means end of year most likely before delivery of normal CT.
Time for Tesla to get battery technology improved, Correct some manufacturing current issues, update software issues.

Not waiting means:
Getting the CT now, paying more, living with non FDS and Auto pilot for a while, living with current battery efficiency.

Frustrating on what I should Do.

You can price out buy and install the exterior panels with the logos, and buy install the white parts for the interior, or laser etch those logos on your exterior panels. Lots to think about.

*** Note also *** For the tailgate exterior part -- shows only Foundation and Cyberbeast to select from not a plain one without logos.:unsure:

VIN's to delivery are taking two weeks for people now and that could be extended. It just takes one major issue to have a setback. The deliveries without hub caps is alarming to me. Not a big deal, but a constraint in the production has popped up. If this was a more critical component, we would see a month in delays.
Tesla uses two suppliers for critical parts, sometimes three.

Wheel covers are not critical parts, so Tesla is likely sourcing them from a single supplier to save money (larger orders get lower prices). But your concern about critical components is a valid one and just one more reason why production of large, complex items like vehicles is excruciatingly difficult. It only takes one critical component shortage to make a mess of things. We saw this happen during the COVID supply shortages with legacy automakers. Tesla proved the strength and flexibility of their supply lines during that period by continuing to INCREASE production while the rest of the industry was shrinking dramatically.

Robust supply chains are one of Tesla's proven strengths, but yeah, they don't worry too much about non-critical parts like wheel covers. If their supplier doesn't perform, the customer has to wait for it, but sales of the vehicles are not impacted. Sure, you can decline delivery until the wheelcovers are installed and that's exactly what I recommend for those who think they shouldn't have to accept an incomplete delivery.

Ka-ching! I think I just moved up in line by two spaces! ?

Funny that i was checking out the pebble flow on YouTube last night. For its innovation, the pre order price of 120k is really cheap for a 25 feet trailer ( same as 25feet flying cloud)i initial thought would-be quarter million. I only concern it's service ability around the nation. So i might still be settled on the so "outdated" airstream one.

Dude. If you can afford the extra $20k +, then buy it!!!! ?

Here’s what I think will happen if you wait. Every day you’ll be thinking about. Wondering if you should just go for it. You will be consumed!!

Eventually in a “moment of weakness” you’ll say “FUCK IT ALL! IM GETTING IT!” and one of two things will happen.

One, you go to the app and put your $1000 down and be stoked!! Also a bit bummed because you could have done it sooner…

Two you’ll go to the app and the invite will be gone. Then you’ll be uber sad and wish you hadn’t waited…..

We live in a world people are paying $150K over sticker for a Porsche GT3RS with no perks added except making dealerships rich .. even Ford Raptor Rs are still going $30-40K over sticker and you get nothing extra

Anyone complaining of the Foundation package is weird to me because you are getting things with the extra money and getting the truck sooner. It's a great deal imo

-shhhh- Don't encourage people until after I get a VIN#.

I would never trust Tesla to go by reservation number. Look how it worked out for you with the FS invite.
It's more than obvious Tesla is batching reservations made the same day (24 hour period) and then using other metrics to decide the exact order. I don't mind that as long as people who ordered more than 24 hours after the reveal don't jump in front. So far, we haven't seen anything like that going on.

You can look at all my last posts and my reasoning has been more sound than the people speculating on here. I go by past Tesla trends and current data.

I pushed back against the nonsense that people were saying about batteries being the bottle neck. I pushed back early against the insanity that 1000 FS will be produced. I pushed back against the insanity that 80% of orders for FS were accounted for on this forum. I am now pushing back against the narrative that Tesla will soon be sending out non FS invites.
Yet you know not one thing more than anyone else. Thanks for the pushback.

I deal with statistics with my research. By the data collected here with reservations, I do know more than most people. I try to judge my speculation based on what is really observed, not making assertions that can't be shown without data.

For marketing, it also makes sense to try to spread out these trucks across the United States. They probably have some type of algorithm based on addresses. To create the maximum exposure, they want to have Cybertrucks in as many areas as possible. You just don't want the first 1000 trucks in an area like LA.

In Fresno, they had a local news story about an owner of a Cybertruck. It may not depend on your reservation number, but your reservation number compared to people close to you in geographic locations. The free advertising Tesla gets by spreading these trucks across the US can't be ignored.
