This makes me feel so much better about planning a trip this summer. Instead of being stranded, now worst case scenario is free travel! Still unclear about what update makes it go from no charging to able to supercharge... but somehow they're doing it. Honestly, great work Tesla.
they do seem to be the most agile of any large company in recent memory!

Yah, DC charging should work even if both PCS DCAC converters fail; but, on some vehicles, that gets locked out. Software update prevents the PCS error from preventing DC charging on those trucks.

Free supercharging is an account/VIN server side issue and shouldn't need a SW update.

Bummer there isn't a closer DC charger 😮💨
Update, bit the bullet and drive to the nearest SuperCharger and it works.
Coincidentally, while supercharging I received a call from Tesla stating that I had received the update to enable supercharging. Thrilled to be able to use my truck till SC appt and the threat of having to tow gone now! Very grateful that Tesla is working hard to make good on this issue.

I’m currently at the Supercharger and it is indeed free right now.

Tesla Cybertruck Tesla pushing update failed PCS to enable supercharging while awaiting PCS repair part IMG_1748

I was hit by PCS yesterday, went to a service appointment today and they said, “we’re cancelling you service appointment - there’s an 8 week hold on fixes”. I tested supercharging worked at the service center, then went to the closest supercharger by my house and it wouldn’t charge. Luckily the second closest place charged.

Does anyone know if the 500KW supercharger locations are a no go when having PCS issues? Or if there is some other pattern I need to know about? I’m a little worried about going somewhere far and getting to a supercharger that won’t work.

Bummer my starlink in car no longer works. :(

There might be a difference between 400V charging and 800V charging (V4). Hopefully, if there is, the software update addresses that also.

This is a nice gesture by Tesla and also damage control.

They can't keep up with PCS parts for the % that are failing and this provides a decent band-aid to at least keep the trucks on the road.

Tesla picked up my ct in 3 hours. I’m 2 hours away from dealership so I feel important. I don’t have my ct but I still feel important

I have a very early VIN and I'm currently on software 2026.2.9.3 and v14.2.2.5. When new software is issued, I normal receive it quite early. I have had no recent updates and have had no PCS issues. The truck is currently charging normally at 32 amps at home.
Could it be that trucks with 14.3.x.x are the only ones having PCS issues? If Tesla knows this, could it be that PCS issues are related to those who have updated to the 14.3 stack? Could this be the reason that I have not been offered the upgrade, even though others have had it for almost 3 weeks? If my PCS fails, will I get an invite to upgrade or just free supercharging?

Nope, problem predates 14.3

Cool, now can they special warranty this thing?

I’m sitting here hoping mine dies before my general warranty expires
Exactly!! They know this is wide spread but still some of us will have to pay thousands for it and for others it will be free!! And now they include it in the warranty of trucks being sold!!!

Nope I was 14.2 when mine failed, I just put on 14.3 hoping that maybe it would magically fix, turns out Einstein says I’m insane.
