I just bought an adapter for my daughter to charge her ID4 from my Tesla charger... This is something that will be bought up quickly until everyone moves to the NACS standard.

I thought the combo adapter was interesting at first glance. It's useful and surely the best choice for people who currently own a CCS1 vehicle. But for us Tesla owners it doesn't make as much sense. My case for instance: I own a tesla Model Y which is NACS. Next vehicle will be the Cybertruck which is NACS. By the time I need another vehicle CCS1 will most likely be joining CHAdeMO in the "thankfully gone" history books. In fact why anyone would buy an EV at this point that uses CCS1 is a mystery. Possibly masochism...

J1772 is not CCS. CCS is the Combined part of the charge system. J1772 is the AC plug. It's used for all sorts of short-ranged, hybrid, or project BEVs, since it's a very simple design. It's simpler even than the NACS plug, and cheaper.

But for us Tesla owners it doesn't make as much sense. My case...

...So you'll never be visited by, or sell to, anyone with an older, short-range, or hybrid vehicle?

Correct, I should have specified that it's only 1/2 (the AC part) of the CCS1 plug.

To be more specific, CCS combines the J1772 with DC. The J1772 existed prior to CCS.

In my case, I have a family that likes to be unique... so, my daughter didn't want a model 3 because 'dad has one'...
