Thanks. That looks like it definitely would have been expensive. And it must be in short supply since it took over two weeks to get one.

One lingering thought I still have. When it initially went out and we were trying to get it lined up for the flatbed ramp and had the truck briefly powered on, each time it died the steering wheel was totally disconnected from any turning response. Any chance the power converter system could die while driving on the highway? I know the steer by wire has redundancy built in but if the entire power system goes down what happens?

These PCS and device cluster issues I am watching. Tesla has every one of these tracked down to a tee so if it is a certain batch of components they know what VIN got them.


For jump strarting in order to have everthing on the MV system working right the manual says you need 30V. 12v will pop the funk and wake it up but anything else is under powered. A 30-48V lawn equipment battery may be the best jumpstart.

CAUTION
Cybertruck uses a 48V low voltage architecture. As a result, some functions may be unavailable or degraded if you are supporting Cybertruck with less than 30V (for example, another vehicle or a 12V portable jump starter).

There are dual independent power paths from the 48V battery and the PCS.
If the PCS died while driving, the 48V battery would keep steering active so you could pull over.
