Has anyone gotten USB music to work? I have a folder of FLAC files that works fine on my Model S. I tried adding them to the USB stick in the glove drawer and nothing showed up. Then I tried them with a USB-C stick in the console formatted using exFAT and still nothing. Also tried the USB-C stick formatted as FAT32 and that didn't work either. Nothing I've tried makes USB show up as a music source.

Test the stick using MP3 files as those work on all Tesla models, also remove variables by formating a single USB drive to FAT32 and putting a couple MP3s in it.
If you get that to work you will need to partition a drive to hold music and another for your TeslaCam footage

Still waiting on VIN and CT, but this was a question I had too, if you can play music (mp3 files) from an installed usb-c flash drive. I have all of my music on one. Hopefully we get a good answer to this.

I'm also very interested in USB mp3 music playback...On the screen menu, does it show the USB icon like in the lower right corner of the attached screen shot from my Model 3?

Now that I think about it, that may only be when it recognizes a valid USB stick (which it won't seem to do for you)...I hope you can get it working...

No it doesn't show up there either. I did a little research over on TMC and a thread there suggested it might show up with a reboot of the screen while the drive was plugged in. So I tried that and still no worky.

Not sure if this helps but does specify which USB and exFAT

Page 161

Playing Media from Devices
USB Flash Drives
Insert a flash drive into a front USB port (see USB-C
Ports on page 19). Touch Media Player > USB, then touch
the name of the desired folder. To play media from a
USB connection, Cybertruck recognizes flash drives only.

To play media from other types of devices (such as an
iPod), you must connect the device using Bluetooth (see
Bluetooth Connected Devices on page 161).

NOTE: Media Player supports USB flash drives with
exFAT formatting (NTFS is not currently supported).

NOTE: Use a USB port located at the front of the center
console. The USB connections at the rear of the console
are for charging only.

Thanks for posting that. Yes, I tried it and the fact that it is in the owners manual is the only thing that gives me hope that it might work someday. Otherwise I would assume they just removed the feature.

Unlikely they removed such a popular feature that does not increase cost of the vehicle. Enough unpopular cuts were already made.
You might only be able to use the glovebox USB not the console ones.

MacOS instructions here.

BASICALLY:
  1. Glovebox USB port only (you may want to purchase a larger stick)
  2. Must partition and format (GUID/exFAT) the USB stick
  3. Partition "TESLA":
    1. Folder "TeslaCam" (case-sensitive!)
  4. Partition "MEDIA":
    1. Folder "Boombox"
    2. Folder "LightShow"
    3. Folder "Music"

"Do I really need two partitions?" Apparently just adding folders on the primary partition next to "TeslaCam" will not work. Besides, the Sentry/TeslaCam partitions get written heavily, while the Media partition is basically read-only, so it's best to keep them separate.

Stop any camera recording (Park, and disable Sentry) before removing the USB stick to prevent data loss.

Note I've not actually tried this yet...

Inspired by this, I took the USB-A drive out of my Model S and plugged it into the CT's glove drawer port. Lo and behold, it works! So now I just have to get an SSD and do some formatting.

Update. Just for kicks, I tried partitioning the USB stick that came with the truck and it worked. Sentry was able to record and USB music was also able to play. Then I clicked the "Format" button on the truck's screen to see if it would just reformat the TeslaCam partition. Nope, it gave an error and destroyed the whole drive. So don't do that. I repartitioned it on my PC and it is copying the music over now.
