Tesla is downloading so much data from our trucks for fsd etc. I think the vampire drain fixes at the pace Tesla wants. I think jumping through all these hoops helps some but it is the truck using wifi at home to send data for fsd. Vampire drain will get better even more once fsd and autopilot are up and running

FYI, I just checked the app which indicated it had been asleep 6 hours, likely that last time I woke it with the app.

Coincidentally, my router shows a big data dump about that time. So, maybe it’s still doing the uploads, but only when it’s not asleep? ?

My truck is out getting a wrap, and I've been watching the percentage drop from my phone throughout the week while it just sits there. Down to 10% from 74%!! Crazy amount of vamping going on, and sentry mode is off.

For context, it's been in the wrap shop now for a full 7 days. Wrap was delayed a bit because I decided on a color really late and they had to wait a bit for another roll of material. I foolishly thought they had all the material there ?

Anyway, they said they'd plug it in for me so I'm not getting a dead truck back.

I just woke my truck by opening the app, and watched the live WiFi activity from my router. The truck had little blips of a few kbps every few seconds, which stopped completely after 30 minutes. Presumably the truck has gone back to sleep.

Oddly, I still see it is uploading GBs of data periodically, which is weird because I haven't driven it in a week! Are they stealing my Netflix lol

Was seeing a drain so high that charging at 800W with the mobile connector didn't overcome it. Had to charge at 1.2KW for it to actually charge. I just updated to 2024.20.1, so hopefully that goes away?

If you can't charge [slowly] on 400-800W, there's no way panels are going to help extend range while camping (or the like).

I don’t think I noticed that in my Cybertruck but I will test tonight. I remember telling myself based on one night that the miles did not change at all and another during a power outage that I used the plugs for the refrigerator and only lost like 2% for the night.
I lost 2 miles overnight in the garage, from 254 to 252. Everything is set to defaults.

Rivian engineers claim they solved it, but until consumers get them we won’t know for certain. As of right now, the only EVs that I have noticed that have little to no vampire drain are the EVs from Germany (ie Mercedes and BMW). Well, they don’t have sentry mode or other things that Tesla and Rivian have.

Something has changed, my Model 3 has been asleep for 13 hours, the Cybertruck was 7 minutes. I suspect something Tesla is doing but hard to say...
