Just FYI looked at CT in showroom low VIN , the first slat at top was full slat like others no holes etc , 3 other CT’s plus mine in for service all have the half width slat with holes exposed at top , obviously they changed part since early builds ??‍

Got mine in service for the same issue. Water pours through the back, and some through a few of the L-track holes too.

Gonna send my advisor this thread to get their thoughts on this being the likely cause.

I have the same issue 28 slats . took it to the service center. They said it was within normal spec and return it. I have requested a new service request to replace the gasket. The service advisors don't really seem to care as they pretend they're not aware of these issues we are having

I also noticed the gasket between the tonnage in the window had started coming off already

When you take it into the service center, they are going to replace your back glass because this is a known issue as the foam has been replaced with a rubber seal that is built into the glass. This is going to expose the unpainted surface on the back of your cab. I would ask the service center hit with spray can a black paint mine would not.

Have a service appointment scheduled in November already. Messaged my service advisor about the rubber seal replacement for the foam and the recall for it. Hopefully by then the recall will be issued and that’ll fully fix it.

I put a thick layer of caulk and a bunch of layers of duct and gorilla tape across the area now to at least try to slow it down. Didn’t fully stop it but it’s a little better vs pouring in like before. Could see light shining through a gap in parts of mine.

I was told by service there is an imminent “recall” or new part coming to fix the leak

Mine's been overly leaky since delivery, too, and they have already replaced the tonneau cover once (or at least said they did). I have another appt scheduled in early October for them to look at it again. Hopefully this rumored new part will be available by then.

Removed my aero cap to realize mine didn’t have any foam at all installed. The roof glass looks like it’s sits slightly too far back so there wouldn’t be enough metal exposed for the foam to be glued down. Called service and they ordered a piece to try next time I bring it in.
Put a rubber weather seal in that area in the meantime and caulked underneath. Not much metal to attach the strip to, but it’s gotta be better than nothing being there at all ?

I had mine (vin 25xxx) in service center today. Showed the missing slat (28 vs 29). The service center advisor has never heard of the issue. He went and checked couple of trucks on the floor. All of them had 28 slats with holes in the back. No known recall was issued and it considered "normal".

I think those holes in the top slat position is actually the first fix. It is a gutter to direct water to the sides (the holes don't open to the bed but to the bottom of the slat so it flows out the sides). On my truck I noticed there was a gap between the felt weather stripping and the cover so am thinking there could be a fix coming for that.

Interesting theory. If the slat with the holes is a fix, it is very odd one.

Followed along that video in attempt to fix mine. Should be noted that depending on where exactly your roof glass is placed on the frame, you might not have much room to work with sticking the foams adhesive to the metal. Mine varied like crazy, but nowhere near as much room as theirs in the video. Made pushing the strip underneath the glass, and sticking the adhesive, really difficult. Mines drying now and going to put it all back together tonight. Hoping it works

You are right, the gap will vary from truck to truck, but shouldn't be by much. Remember, the tighter the fit the better. Just go slow with tucking the new rubber seal into the gap about 1 inch at a time. Make sure that you only tuck 1/2 of the rubber seal in between the glass roof and the metal bottom. When I made this video I tried my best to explain the process. It’s been a little over 2 months now and we still have absolutely no water leaking from the new seal into our truck bed since the upgrade.

Will do. Got the truck put back together tonight. Applied another strip of caulk to basically create a glued water seal between the weatherstrip and the aero shield, hoping it eliminates the off chance that any water could lip over the strip and enter the bed that way. Basically covered the entire weather seal from the underside with caulk. The rubber seal on the aero cover on mine didn’t make full contact in a few spots to the roof glass area (was bent slightly downward leaving small gaps). Tried to take it out and readjust it but didn’t work, so figured if I’m this committed, might as well go all out and completely seal the area off.
And since mine didn’t have the foam at all to cap the ends off with, I just ran my weatherstripping all the way to the sides to hopefully create a channel to run down the outside of the frame behind the steel. The aero cover pinched it a bit when attaching it back, so another reason I caulked everything underneath. Letting it cure through tomorrow and will water test it Saturday ??
