I like the styling, but, no, that's not what I care about and I don't think 85% do either. I love that it's gonna be the toughest 1/2 ton out there and the most durable. I also like that it doesn't suck gasoline like it's trying to get drunk like my current truck does. I could go on and on about the capabilities and features I'm most excited about but the styling is at or near the bottom of the list.
Fair.

But if it looked like a wrinkled up soda can and still had all those things you listed, would you buy it?

Also, I wasn't saying 85% bought because of looks. I meant in 85% sure a good chunk (unknown percent) bought it for looks/clout

This is the part where I don’t get the point.

I people are so hung up on how it looks that they ignore what it can do, are their opinions really that valuable?

I’m buying the truck to do specific things. Not to look a certain way.

If one truck looks better and the other does a better job, I know which one I’m driving.
So, you're saying not all drivers of full-sized pickups with 35" tires are posers?

You would never know it by listening to those upset that the exoskeleton outer panels are not aesthetically perfectly flat! I would prefer that they were as perfect as possible, but if the structural nature of the exoskeleton, the welding or the cold rolling, makes this impractical, than I could no more turn down the Cybertruck than I could turn down a hot babe who wanted more simply because her hair was messed up.

Hot babe with messed up hair: I'm having a lot of fun tonight. Do you want to come up and listen to some music or something?

If it's 304 variation stainless steel it will to some extent, but magnets won't stick on 316 stainless. I'm not sure how magnetic the CT blend will be though, but the more magnetic it is (ferrous) the more prone it will be to corrosion.
Pretty sure it's just 3-4 bolts taken out from the inside. With a simple harness. They might even provide mirror cover plates to make the outside flush.

Somehow I doubt that... I have yet to see a thread on here with even the smallest of small comment that we can all agree on. There is always at least one dissenter. And the dissenters tend to be more vocal for the smaller issues.

At least that is what I seem to have observed here,
I disagree with your statement… 😁

I see no reason why that wouldn't be possible, but I've never heard of that already floating in the market, so it might be prohibitively expensive and physically very heavy to have custom made.

Cool idea though! That might be a profitable thing to start for CT fans.
Do it yourself project. Apply a panel of vinyl. Adhere a ferrous sheet to the vinyl. Vinyl allows for easier removal later.

I plan to use a vinyl underlay before attaching carpool stickers.

Opinions are like butt holes. Everybody has one—and they all stink.

The CT will draw more stares and opinions than we can imagine for the first two years of production. Every Pickup Truck Sheriff in sight will come over to give their take on the CT and pass judgement on whether or not you "pickup truck" they way you're supposed to.

I figure it'll be like dealing with Jeep Sheriffs, where some guys would actually turn up their nose if you didn't wheel once a month. I'm just glad an offroad capable EV that can use the Tesla supercharger network is coming. The only thing going in the bed of my CT will be road trip luggage and maybe a piece of furniture once or twice. The Truck Sheriffs will simply have to deal with it.
Truck Sheriff's are the worst. Once I dealt with a Truck Deputy... Wasn't much better.

I think everyone should start getting used to the idea that there will be variations and imperfections in the stainless steel sheets. For me that will provide character. Like timberframe buildings or log cabins with some cracks and twisting. They look imperfect but boy do they last and are tough. Unique and beautiful.

My first and only new vehicle was a 92 Wrangler I bought when I got my first full tome job.. it was too pretty and perfect. As luck would have it, it got stolen and roughed up a little before the police found it 300 miles away. I got a slightly roughed up Wrangler and an insurance payout. Win win. Not sure how I am going to rough up this beast.

I reckon wraps will be a big thing with the CT.

I'd be open to it down the track, just to remove the industrial look and personalize it.

Love 'Alien' wrap, but maybe I'm past it.. a more subtle green maybe.

with a cover plate that fits the mirror opening and a big rubber band to connect the hook inside of the cover plate straight across the truck to the hook on the cover plate on the other door.

naaaaaaah. ;)

It’s surprising that so many people care about the aero caps for aesthetics on what is arguably the largest eye sore on four wheels.

You're not making sense. Are you saying there is something wrong with keeping a coherent look?
