I like the Hansshow mirror and will order one as soon as I can order a rear camera cover too, also I was wondering if the cable is long enough to hide the connector inside the cover?
Yes , i should be posting my video today showing all this and how to route the cables

I honestly have no idea why people care about the rear view mirror not having video or not being able to see out the back of the truck with the rear view mirror….100% of everything is being digested from the screen anyway so why is looking at the rear view there any different?! I don’t get the fixation…no offense, smh. After a couple of hours after getting my CT, I haven’t given it a 2nd thought
I regularly carry very large RC aircraft in the bed of the CyberTruck. The planes hang outside the bed and even though they’re strapped down, I need to periodically ensure they’re still there and not on the highway.

I've had my Cybertruck since February 2024 and the rearview mirror is the biggest miss on this truck. I've been looking all the available options out there and narrowed it down to Hansshow and Wolfbox. I decided to go with Hansshow because I like the OEM style bracket it uses to hold the digital mirror instead of just mounting it on top of the original mirror. Also it's a bit smaller and angular. So far I've been very happy with it!

I noticed most people opted to install the rearview camera on the tailgate area but I didn't want to do that because I didn't want a low angle view. Plus if you decide to use the tow hitch, you won't be able to see anything. I mounted on the top of the truck right on the plastic trim between the roof glass and the tonneau cover so that it can provide an overhead view of the rear while also looking into the truck bed (when open) if needed.

The overall install time took about 1 hour with half of the time trying to squeeze the wires inside the camera housing above the mirror. Routing the wires through the interior of the car and going outside was surprisingly easily. Anyway I made a quick video of my process below.

Lastly, I didn't like how the external camera is so boxy looking so for the meantime I had someone 3D print me a larger version of the cyber whistle and I used a dremal tool to convert it to house my camera. This will do for now, until I find a better solution. Anyone got any 3d Print designs to house this camera better?

Very nice! Great job. I won't be buying a CT, but I appreciate clever designs.

Until now there's still NO "wireless" solution? I'm not good at routing cables and "wireless" is free to stick it anywhere I want.
I thought the same thing. But wireless latency might be an issue. Plus the camera still needs wires for power too.

Other than the location to view the screen, can you compare the view of the camera mount vs stock view? Is it the same view and resolution?

The new CT update made the rear view fully wide and the ability to zoom the view....
the resolutions and night vision is superior on the hansshow. You can’t zoom in on the hansshow but you can drag your image up or down. Hansshow is a bit wider than the tailgate camera. I’ll try to take comparison pics later.

so I 3D printed the file provided (using Bambu p1p) and then I sprayed a few layers of UV clear coat on it too. Applied double sided tape to the bottom and was able to tuck more wires inside the housing (including the connector) so this is much cleaner Install! Super happy with the results !

yeah i don’t have abs/asa. So PETG will have to do for now. I sprayed coats of UV to help. I don’t park outside. But if it warps/melts. I’ll just reprint it again.

nice work the 2nd version of the housing is a big improvement over the first one. but don't leave a piece of the wire hanging out because it won't fit through the gap. I'm almost sure that that piece over the rear window is held in place like everything else with clips maybe a fastener on each end into the sidewall/track but remove it or loosen it to get that wire underneath. that wire just looks bad and it exposed to damage. I agree this is how tesla should have done the rearview solution maybe even both because the tailgate camera is useless when gate is down and not as effective while towing. furthermore, I also think the cars behind you appear to be so far back, yet they are actually a lot closer even sometimes looks like nobody behind you but look over your shoulder and they are right there. I'm sure this helps when backing up but not while driving. Tip for 3D printing try to increase the fill percentage and smaller step over. Print will take longer, and it will weigh more but also smoother tighter stronger and solid hopefully make it watertight. you got a good aerodynamic shape and good for water and dirt shed. definitely a nice addition.

Thanks for the tips! I was able to hide the thick connector inside the 3D print housing. That allowed me to tuck all the wires between the grooves so it’s not visible. Nothing is sticking out anymore
