I'm already used to looking at the screen for rear view.

In fact, it's in all camera mode on my screen and I like and prefer the 180 degree view around my CT.

Besides, the rear view mirror is now focused and exclusive use of the wife.:p

But nice work by the OP.

I honestly have no idea why people care about the rear view mirror not having video or not being able to see out the back of the truck with the rear view mirror….100% of everything is being digested from the screen anyway so why is looking at the rear view there any different?! I don’t get the fixation…no offense, smh. After a couple of hours after getting my CT, I haven’t given it a 2nd thought
go somewhere with your tailgate down and you’ll understand.

Personally…for the minimal amount of time that I would “ever” drive with the tailgate down…I would just open the tonneau cover and take the also “minimal” efficiency hit and look out the back of the truck while the CT autonomously drives itself! IJS

Can you pinch to zoom in on Hansshow camera image like the Tesla rear view camera image?

FSD doesn’t work with the tailgate down.

1. The mounted camera video feed gets a wider field of view (safer)
2. When I carry large items (that block the rear window) in the truck with the tailgate down. I can’t use my mirror or the tailgate camera.
3. I don’t like to look down at my screen for the tailgate video feed.
Mine is tailgate down, dirtbikes loaded = zero rear view mirror via Tesla camera + I removed my physical mirror (unless)....I use a Garmin + Garmin wireless camera to solve the issue but truthfully dont even do that most the time...so to me, no big deal either way...when tailgate up, Tesla solution works great for me

I've had my Cybertruck since February 2024 and the rearview mirror is the biggest miss on this truck. I've been looking all the available options out there and narrowed it down to Hansshow and Wolfbox. I decided to go with Hansshow because I like the OEM style bracket it uses to hold the digital mirror instead of just mounting it on top of the original mirror. Also it's a bit smaller and angular. So far I've been very happy with it!

I noticed most people opted to install the rearview camera on the tailgate area but I didn't want to do that because I didn't want a low angle view. Plus if you decide to use the tow hitch, you won't be able to see anything. I mounted on the top of the truck right on the plastic trim between the roof glass and the tonneau cover so that it can provide an overhead view of the rear while also looking into the truck bed (when open) if needed.

The overall install time took about 1 hour with half of the time trying to squeeze the wires inside the camera housing above the mirror. Routing the wires through the interior of the car and going outside was surprisingly easily. Anyway I made a quick video of my process below.

Lastly, I didn't like how the external camera is so boxy looking so for the meantime I had someone 3D print me a larger version of the cyber whistle and I used a dremal tool to convert it to house my camera. This will do for now, until I find a better solution. Anyone got any 3d Print designs to house this camera better?

What camera specs did you go with? I do not care much for the Tesla CT backup view and I really like that location. 170 degrees seems awfully wide for a rear view view.

I like the Hansshow mirror and will order one as soon as I can order a rear camera cover too, also I was wondering if the cable is long enough to hide the connector inside the cover?

For me I've adapted to using the side mirrors if I want to see what's behind me. With the Tesla camera/display I can't really make out what's behind me unless they are right on my ass. Is it a cop? Can't tell. With my Hummer EV the digital mirror/camera was MUCH better and (almost) a true replacement for a traditional mirror. I may decide to go with an aftermarket rear view setup for my CT in the future but for now, (other than for backing up) I prefer to use the side mirrors to identify what's behind me.
