The only reason I would prefer to mount above it do to the fact that when it rains or slushy dirty snow, I feel that it will have the same issue as the OEM camera and get blocked with mud, street grim and dirt. At least on top you have less of a chance with this.
you are correct. the camera does get blocked easily by rain. I did coat it with some ceramic coating and it helped. Still worth installing on license plate to preserve the oem look in my opinion.

I'm seriously considering doing mine.. which specific Hansshow did you pick?

Also, this:

I tried to have this housing printed from an online print shop (in3dtec). They said they could not print it because the file download is 3MF and they need it in STL or STP. I’ve never printed anything before so I’m not sure how this works. Does anyone know how to get them what they need from this link? I really like this design for the camera housing, I just don’t know how to get it..

I would try a different print shop. 3mf is easily converted to STL. I could convert it for you, but seriously I wouldn't trust a shop that can't figure that out.

Got the roof mount camera housing and re-wired the camera for the top of the truck. Looks so awesome now!

how much extra wire is left running the camera to this location? and what did you do with the extra wire? is it coiled up in the bed area or tucked in the headliner area? thank you, I want to do the same install this weekend

Extra Wire is about 10 Feet. I cut 10" out and spliced it back together - It's two power wires (Black & Red) and a yellow coax shielded. Easy splice.

If I had it to do over I would cut and splice the camera wire directly behing the display. You can see I spliced the power cable directly behind the display to get all the wires away from the GPS antenna. This way the display can be removed if needed.

I used and online printer from Treadstock. Printer named DNC 3D Print - located in Knoxville, TN. $30 shipped and came out great. I linked them to the Thingverse site for the drawings/details.

With this one you can mount the camera with the included bradet inside the 3D printed housing.

I have mine rolled up and tucked in behind the stainless steel sails.

Hey Chris, I sent DM to see if you can print for me as well. Let me know!

Just got my Cybertruck this past weekend and first project is definitely installing this video rear view mirror.

Thanks
Brian

Ordered 1 after Watching Chuck's video. I have a person who can print 3d, printing from Chucks's files.

I’ve watched a few already, what is the best roof install video out there for this? There seem to be a couple different approaches just looking for clean and reliable.

Any hansshow promos too? Saw someone on here got their for ~$200.

Also,:
4. Night vision is noticeably better on the Hansshow
5. With aftermarket transmitters, you can use it as a trailer camera.
What are these after market transmitters? Would be awesome if the need for a physical wire between the mirror and the camera was eliminated. I’m guessing that there are latency issues, but having a camera that cam be moved from the top of the tonneau to the end of a bed cap, etc etc would be great.

I watched i1Tesla before installing mine. I know that they make a 3D printed housing for it now. At the time, I had to get with someone to print my housing. The main problem is getting all the wires where the mirror mounts and then putting the dam screw in. Otherwise, it's pretty easy.

I am using these: https://a.co/d/jcQhSzH They work for my flatbeds. Not sure if they would work for a travel trailer.

very very interesting. in a hansshow setup, after some splicing, could the transmitter be buried in the right side footwell, and the reciever under the removable aerocover?

I used these adaptors: https://www.rearviewsafety.com/safety-solutions/accessories/backup-camera-accessories/adapters.html and mounted the receiver under the aerocover in a waterproof box and the transmisster is on my trailer. You may be able to switch that around and put the receiver at the footwell. I have not opened that area up.

How did you folks weather proofed the place where the camera wire goes in between the moonroof and the metal panel? For me it keeps leaking water bit-by-bit even with some foam around the wire.
