Several people on this forum have posted they got new wheels, I don't see any reason why you couldn't as well. That said, a good refinish is indistinguishable from a new wheel. They are using a thirs party to refinish my wheels from the cover scratches. I was a first Tesla owner and was never told about the covers scratching the wheel so I never had the option to choose. They stuck them on and to my ignorance I didn't realize it scratches until I went to air up. I wonder if I should push to get replacement instead of refinish?
I personal prefer the caps and will accept the damage. Granted putting air in the tires is a lot more of a pain with the covers.
