OP you are a victim of FUD. We as owners should not expect Tesla to deliver a flawless $100k+ vehicle. If you look around only a handful of owners have had issues and most of those were easily fixable.

Enjoy the best truck money can buy and don’t pay attention to the FUD that is being spread by those who are jealous…..

Dang, y'all bullied this man off the forum for asking one of the most logical questions? lol

Sorry OP. I think it's crazy that we waited 4+ years to be bait and switched by 50k and then had a bunch of quality issues and an unfinished truck released too.

I think it's okay to do one or the other. Unfinished truck with a reasonable price, or flawless truck at 100k.

having both negatives is wild to me. But the truck is wild enough for people to justify it

As a fan of Tesla and early adopter of the Model X, I have asked myself multiple times why I subject myself over and over again with quality and service issues.

Regardless of being the first of its kind, issues regarding the foundation CTs continue to grow.

***THESE ARE NOT ISSUES I'VE HAD WITH MY TRUCK PERSONALLY BUT NOTED ACROSS FORUMS/X***

1. Bricking due to charging issues/PCS/HV/harness
2. Bricking after car wash
3. Tonneau cover gap
4. Water damage to tonneau cover buttons
5. Overhead gear selector popping/dropping
6. Panels flying off
7. Windshield cracking/deformity
8. Windshield wiper motor not working
9. Rear doors not opening 90 degrees
10. Seatbelts installed incorrectly
11. Screen blacking out
...

On top of that, service is backed up, takes forever to get parts, repair itself takes days to weeks, and worse part of it all... poor communication...

I've already had my front windshield replaced, wiper motor replaced, gear selector fixed, and now find myself waiting on a side mirror replacement.

I repeatedly convince myself that it's okay and find myself justifying the situation. Like a bad/unhealthy relationship you keep on going back for more abuse. Not only am I complacent, I defend the behavior by saying,

"It's a Tesla.."
"Small price to pay as an early adopter..."
"I knew what I was getting into..."

It's sad, foolish and so egregious that it's comical. Never did I allow this with my other cars.

Yet I sit in the 100K+ car, being towed left and right, smiling and secretly hoping that it won't brick while my kids are riding in the back.

On a side note, anyone with a CT that is working without issues for more than month or two (with a couple of thousand miles+)?
Yeah I really hate how much of a crab shoot it is.

Technically, I think u all r doing pretty good considering the technology that's in truck. I remember working on the first T38 jets we got. We had issues. Giggles, the plane was painted white. Ohh what fun getting inside it. So u guys r lucky.
I wish Elon would get out of politics, spend more time on the floor. Put on 24/7 shifts. At current rate I'll be dead before I get mine, I have 113 number

“Reasonable price” It is a reasonable price. Just because it’s more than opening night 4 years ago WAG doesn’t mean it’s not reasonable in today’s marketplace.

there were so many fanboys when this forum opened that it was difficult to separate wheat from chaff. One idiot said he was definitely youto cancel (and get his $100 “investment” back) if the truck didn’t come with solar panels. He didn’t grasp that solar panels wouldn’t do a damn thing to charge this truck but it was that important to him.

I’ve long said that Tesla was behind in not expanding service facilities. Building a low maintenance vehicle is not the same as building a no maintenance vehicle. Throw a couple of million vehicles more on the road and a small number will need service. This morning my service center had all 100 slots filled.

if this forum is to continue to be useful to owners and prospective owners administrators need to weed out the naysayers and trolls.

You're not being forced to tolerate this situation, you can sell your Cybertruck anytime you want.

Oh wait

I agree, overall its tech/experience has been phenomenal minus the relatively minor issues ive had compared to some.
Cameras fixed, took 2 hours.

Now to wait till June to fix the other stuff.

I have had my Cybertruck for just over a month. Had a scratch on the tonneau identified at delivery. I have driven over 2,500 miles including a road trip from Sacramento area to Vancouver, have had zero other issues. Service center replaced tonneau with new assembly. Best vehicle I have ever owned!! Service center very responsive and helpful.

True that! At the same time the truck is incredibly expensive. I cannot help hearing my Dad's voice in my head saying, you are spending WHAT? And, if you are spending THAT, they'd better damn well treat you right. It's how I was raised, it was not about a bleeding edge technological kind of thing...times may have changed, but that voice inside my head has not.
In my experience, cost is often associated with quality. While true in some cases, it’s often the case that cost are more indicative of an immature technology or low volume product. I think Cybertruck falls in both of those categories. With immature and low volume products, it’s more likely that you’ll have issues like the ones we are seeing posted here and in the media. That doesn’t absolve Tesla of the responsibility to fix them, but that it’s happening isn’t a surprise to me.

I had an opportunity to get a new Model 3 loaner a few weeks ago. It’s light years ahead of the original Model 3 in terms of quality. This makes sense considering the volume of production for that model. I expect Cybertruck in 2+ years will be a lot better than it is now. So I’d say to people who want a Cybertruck, “how bad do you want it?” If you’re willing to wait and don’t care to ride the hype train, get it in 2027 and you’ll probably have a much better experience. But if you want it now, be prepared for some inconveniences which are covered by the warranty.

Many who talk of the Cybertrucks price must have forgotten to look around at other priced trucks they would be caught in. No bargain basement XLT. King Ranch or Denali trim. Start looking, and one might just start to blend into the rest of the world of trucks and SUV's. Then look at price tag.

Funny thing is the gassers are starting to have to offer ridiculous cheap financing because they aren't selling.

This is a true FUD thread.

Please dispense of the cost aspect. If it is expensive to own or stretching, that is a personal problem. Nothing to do with the truck. If one stretches a wallet the truck should be perfect. Such a poor argument.

It took Tesla 7 years to make the Model 3 better but you expect them to do the same with CT in just 2 years? Or is that 2 years in Elon years?

For me the bottom line is closer to - if I pay for a high priced product, I expect it to work reasonably well, and I expect a service experience commensurate with the cost.

I'll say this, I have done work for a couple billionaires, and yes, that's Billionaires with a B. Nothing is too expensive for them personally. And yet, you had damn well better believe, that does not make them less exacting in their expectations. Far from it, I would say their expectations are sky-high and even impossible at times.

Anyway, digression over, these fellows have unique minds and approaches to the world that I wouldn't care to emulate...

and PLEASE note: I am NOT claiming the CT does not "work reasonably well" or that Tesla service is subpar the country over.

But I feel the pain of the posters experiencing difficulties. I would nto for anything restrict their abilities to post about what they feel.

"My Cybertruck is in service and I miss driving it." - This is ok.
"CYBER-SUCK IS NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS!" - This is a rant requiring adjustment of medication.
