I'll be trading in my '21 M3 Performance w/FSD for my early reservation (first 10k-ish) TriMotor w/FSD. My wife also has a Tesla (Model Y LR w/FSD, accel boost, etc.)
I've loved the M3P, but I'm a big dude (6'4", 230lbs) and I'm starting to feel the size of the car in my knees lol
I'm 6'2 250lb and after having traded yesterday the Honda for a M3RWD that will now belong to my wife, I hear ya. I'm trading the 2022 MYP for the truck (but is going to hurt being 25-30k underwater:cry:)

Not a trade-in story, but an encounter that really surprised me. I went to an event where there were many Tesla owners. I was talking to a Model Y owner and started mentioning the Cybertruck. This Tesla owner told me they never heard of it and was completely unaware that Tesla was releasing a pickup truck. I thought the owner was pulling my leg, but after much questioning I started to believe that they were being truthful. Blew my mind a current Tesla driver had no knowledge of the CT.

I suggested they watch the unveil event and go from there. I just couldn't catch them up on the whole 4 years in a short convo.

This person was middle-aged, friendly, well spoken and sober. They had owned the Tesla for about a year.

Tesla offered me 27k for my MYP with 27k miles on it. (Was in an accident but repaired by Tesla certified place)

So if I sell it, I will likely try to do private party.

My wife wants to keep the Y and trade her civic (8k quote by Tesla).

I kinda want to do a downgrade to a higher mileage older M3 DM for her to keep because she doesn't appreciate or need the power of the MYP. But my interest rate is a good 6 points lower than what I'd likely get now.

Why is adulting so hard?

I met plenty of Tesla owners/enthusiasts at the recent Expo. They all knew of the Cybertruck, but had wildly differing "facts" about it. Most didn't know about the Nov 30 event.

It's like they don't even check this forum regularly like a normal person 🤔

Maybe they have visited once but were turned off by the fact you can't do 😮 and 🤣 to a comment at the same time 🤔

My situation:

Still owe 30K on a PY with 146K miles. Obviously, will take a big hit if I sell or trade in.

I was considering keeping it, TUROing it (along with the CT) but I forgot to put it on Turo before it went past 130K miles which is their limit. So, that means hard to make extra $ to justify keeping it.

I would like to have 2 vehicles (if one is rented or under repair) but not sure it's worth the extra cost, insurance, parking, etc... I'm sure there will be times when it would be nice to drive the Y instead of the CT.

Waiting on my trade-in offer from Tesla but I'm prepared to be insulted. LOL

So it's 2 bad options... pay a ~ 15K penalty to trade in or pay $1200 a month (car + Ins) for 36 months, but have a 2nd car.

Yep I'm in the same boat - two bad options and no telling when my reservation #400k will actually be up

Mine is fairly early... I might have gotten an invite already but I'm in AZ not CA or TX.

Ideally, they call my # the instant you can get the regular Dual and can qualify for the tax credit

If we get the dual motor at 79k with federal rebate we will be keeping our 2018 Model 3 LR RWD.

If, however, we are offered a Founders Edition then we would trade it in to make up most of the difference in price and keep everything within budget.
