I’m getting more middle fingers and looks now. Got an egg thrown at the tonneau cover the other day. I’m in SF.
Did you keep the egg? Those things are expensive

Since we’re doing politics freely on this thread; weren’t they supposed to be coming down? And I don’t mean on our cars.

Hey everyone,
I am planning on buying a Cybertruck soon. I am located in the bay area but I commute to university in Berkeley (you can prob guess which one), I was hoping to buy a cybertruck but the news about vandalizing Cybertrucks have been worrying me lately. Especially in Berkeley where its very left wing and probably hates Elon way more now and the cybertruck. Is this a cause of concern? I really wanted to buy it!
I love the CT. The vehicle is amazing. But honestly at this very point in time I’m not sure I’d get one, if I was gonna be in Berkeley all the time. You will be dealing with stuff for a while I’d imagine so just need to decide is it worth it. Sucks but it’s the reality.

Steer by wire means there's no physical link. Neither GM nor the other Teslas can do that.
Physical link to what? When the FSD computer is steering the vehicle (say Model 3), the steering is powered by its 12V system. The Computer isn’t physically turning a steering wheel. (The computer has no arms) One could argue the extra drag of the steering wheel etc. makes steering harder for the FSD steer-by-wire.

THe steering of the rear wheels on the Hummer and other GM trucks is Steer-by-wire. And that is powered by the trucks 12V system.

I tried to catch it but missed. I wonder if the shell is worth anything ??‍♂
About $.15 according to chat based on the amount of calcium carbonate you’re looking at in a typical egg.

Also, they did it right in front of you?! ?

I didn't know my CT was Hindu.
That one goes the other way and is a Taoist symbol also. ? As a Taoist priest (kung fu “shifu”- don’t forget), I kind of know about these things. The symbol represents many things to different cultures but all of them are about creation natural cycles etc. Nazis reversed it for a reason.

I know - but 99% don't know where the Swastika came from, so I find it assuming when people automatically associate it with Germany instead of it's real origin. :)

I live in the North Bay and drove to SFO last Saturday to pick my wife up from the airport. I've gotten really good at ignoring other drivers. I LOVE my cybertruck and have decided to drive it no matter what people may think. It's not always easy, but it is a good exercise in manning up and living one's own life, no matter the cost.

I live in Southern Utah, and funny enough it’s the conservative coal rolling crowd that give me the bird. I’ve also heard of slashing tires etc by those same people. Haters are going to hate. Don’t let others dictate what you want to do. I agree with others in this post that say people are getting used to seeing CT and we are starting to blend in. People are loosing interest.

The swastika could only be associated with Nazi Germany (and it’s acolytes) because it’s their symbol. The “Wan” is materially different.

This is like when people try to explain to leftists that Lincoln was a republican! ?

Yeah, but we all also know about the southern strategy so that doesn’t quite work.

I like this new political freedom the mods have gifted us, we should just keep doing this.

This is the most interesting thread I have read yet. I visit Midland/Odessa Texas most every weekend and my concern is the hate that I know is going to come from the oil industry, which is everyone! I’ve seen a couple of CT’s in town but never got to talk to the owners.

A friend of a friend in Odessa said I was crazy for wanting a Tesla. Those batteries give off poison gas and I could die! ?

I’m waiting on better range. I travel the boondocks a lot. I put money down on a 500 mile truck, not a 300- mile truck. My 2022 Model Y gets 225 miles on an 80% charge, so I have little faith in the CT stated range.

Oh, and Musicurry, do you really think Jesus would tell people to go f themselves? Lol
