Huh??? Have you seen what the engineers at Tesla do?good to know what's under there. no possibility of a 5th wheel.
What is a range multiplier?Worth it. The AUX battery coupler is way more valuable in the long run. I believe it’s the only EV with such an option. The Range Extender is cool, but wait til they come out with the Range Multiplier. Massive possibilities.
I thought that was ruled out anyway with the sails.I will agree that a traditional 5th wheel mount won’t work. But that is mostly because a traditional mount is designed around a traditional chassis. That ain’t the CT. IF (big if there) there is a sufficient market for a mount (I don’t see many F150s or 1500s towing a 5th wheel, mostly larger trucks), I expect someone to make a mount that utilizes the castings or a weight distribution plate from which a mount could attach to the CT. Maybe on the HD-CT someday…
An auxiliary battery that’s large enough to multiply range by whole integers. Think 2-4x range extender. What is a range multiplier?
Air for suspension I believeWhat's in that long cylindrical tube at the top?
When it comes to Tesla, I’ve learned not to rule anything out.I thought that was ruled out anyway with the sails.

It is not clear you understand how 5th wheel trailer hitches work That thread I pointed to has a lot of info. When it comes to Tesla, I’ve learned not to rule anything out.
Yes, the sails could pose a problem with a standard 5th wheel on a standard mount. But that’s not to say there isn’t a creative solution. Again, I don’t know that towing a 5th wheel is in the design criteria for a truck this size. But, assuming there is enough demand, I wouldn’t put anything past the designers.
I don’t think anyone in the legacy OEMs are breathing a sigh of relief these days. Whether or not Tesla is encroaching on their HD truck market with the CT is of little consequence. Tesla has moved into the BEV truck market. And that is going to keep more than a couple of execs up at night. Tesla has made an F150/1500 sized truck, and at the other end of the spectrum, a Semi Tractor. It isn’t a huge step to fill in the gap there. And when you look at what Tesla has done in the BEV market with their share of the space, you’d have to be incredibly myopic to not see where this could lead. When you see where Rivian is with the R1S, and you see that even at that price, there is a demand for a BEV large format SUV, a legacy OEM has got to see where their future risk and exposure lies. The Big 3 were concerned that the CT would encroach on their very profit HD 2500/3500 truck segment. I’m sure they all breathed a sign of relief on 11/30 when the production CT made its debut. The dismal towing range and lack of a 5th wheel hitch mount sealed the deal.
I get it. I’ve been a horse guy since I was 8. I watch my neighbor back his 4 horse 5th wheel into his long driveway with an awkward approach off the street all the time. And I don’t have the solutions, but what I said was, I wouldn’t put anything past the designers. It is not clear you understand how 5th wheel trailer hitches work That thread I pointed to has a lot of info.
I'm not nearly as impressed with Tesla as I used to be. haha. They certainly didn't do any better range-wise than competitors EV trucks as many thought. /s
