I meant around the factory, sorry. Yea. Like on the ground. 2-3 wouldn’t shock me by EOY. I’d love to see 10.

another interesting tidbit was us NOT getting Semi solid pricing. The “ cost of a semi is the same as several Model Y’s” bit makes me assume $66k x3 which means only a 10% bump in price all the whole true 500 mile range TOWING full load…. Pretty amazing!

My reservation is screwed if a dual Cybertruck is $55K. Thought I’m getting bigger range and 70K cause more range makes sense for the tow warriors.
I have 2 trucks on order. First one is launch night and will be whatever releases first. Second one is from middle last year and is a contingency just in case I get the first and decide later I want something different. I also locked in FSD pricing on the second one (alas not the first).

I think Semi pricing will be confidential for some time. Their first customers are all fleets I bet. Once they start selling trucks to retail figures will come out or get leaked.

Not exactly Cybertruck news but Elon confirmed that the Semi will go 500 miles fully loaded on one charge. Might bode well for Cybertruck towing... I wonder how far the Semi will go unloaded... hmm...
Towing with the CT will suck more than the Lighting because it gets it base range through aerodynamic efficiency where as the Lighting uses bigger batteries.

The Semi assumes a box trailer which is tucked behind the cab in it's range estimate and has the battery size to compensate.

This makes the most sense. So far anyhow they seem to prefer packaging the cells before shipping.

Or ideally building the cells and installing them in the vehicle without shipping.
I haven't noticed rail lines at GT. We thought they would ship out vehicles this way. Parts might be different given how slow and unpredictable rail can be, but 2000# packs from Fremont to Texas starts to add up. 27 per truck? Since freight generally doesn't move west this might be a dead leg. Not ideal, but hopefully short term.

I keep wonder the same thing dude. I’m pretty tall 6’3”, that front dash…. Is it really open or is there some box like we saw pictured? Is it still 6 seats?

sighting leaks in the factory are gonna be a thing before years end!
Elon is almost 6'2" and I think Jay is close to 6 foot and they look to have plenty of room in it.

No chance whatsoever.

Who said that the Semi is using 2170s? That qualifies as FUD. I listened in on the earnings call and I only heard good things about 4680 ramps.

Maybe instead of guessing at what was said, or listening to what others that didn't attend the call want you to think, you should listen to the call and then decide.

They said it on the call. The semi is on 2170s right now.

Unlikely but possible. If anything I think they'd use the MY 4680 supply for CT until ramps instead.

Well for the user the only advantage is really a slighter lighter vehicle, so less body roll, rolling resistance and tyre wear, and a faster mph charge speed both because of the lighter vehicle, but mostly because of the lower ohmic resistance of the tabless battery. Might be as much as 20-30% faster once they dial it in.

I doubt MS and MX will ever get them as I don't think their production numbers warrant a change in the pack design. They are also end of life models, or as EM puts it sentimental models.

Once CT is being delivered I expect robotaxi/van to be revealed.

It is not necessary to have an on-site railyard. Cars are being shipped out of GT via trailer to train cars about 20 miles away.

Seems clunky way of doing it and increases risk of damage to vehicles.

If not practical to extend rail line on to Austin GF property because of intervening property rights, dig a Boring Company tunnel between the sites and then drive vehicles off the production line, through the tunnel and onto a train car.

In the future FSD Rail Load/Unload module would handle the operation.
