Can you fix it for me? I have no idea what i'm doing
This is the closest any of us will get. It lines up with all the elements in the image. The front corner is very unclear so I did my best there. I focused on the outer most attachment points on the rear casting. It all lines up rather perfectly with my understanding of the shape of the exoskeleton. I included the PDF in case its higher resolution.

Mark my words. It will have the sail pilar storage. There looks to be about a 6” horizontal gap between the strut support and the rest of the cast which is enough space for storage.
Re-read my comment, I did not say it was not possible. I said that there could still be a chance based on the photo, I just think they will axe it for cost reasons.

Everyone saying looks like two rear castings is making stuff up. Point to one part of this image that shows a break or two castings. There’s isn’t one. That’s why they brought in the giga press. It’s what we have been waiting for. It shipped in October ready to assemble and use and we are seeing the result of that. This is very likely the final version of those castings. And this is the version they will be doing the testing on.
The 9k ton press is not installed yet.

I was really counting on there being sail pillar/wing storage - keeping my fingers crossed that there will be at least some. It would be enough for me to stow recovery & medical gear.

Not holding my breath for there being space for integral spare tire storage, but that would be nice.

If it’s as skinny as what it looks like with the big cast support there, I’m not sure there is a ton of point to it myself. Needs to be a fair bit larger than a bathroom medicine cabinet to be useful. A place to stuff my helmet, bike shoes, maybe a few tools.

Taking a step back. There was never a promise of a mid-gate. There was never a promise of a pass through either, though one was mentioned in a tweet.

I mention to temper expectation with reality. However, if we repeat a mid-gate will be present and the price will decrease, we can collectively create reality out of fiction.
I like to create reality out of reality. That's why the midgate will be there and the price will decrease

All of the previous pictures of the exoskeleton make me think this is just a jig for aligning the outside dimensions of what the folded SS will entail. If that is close to being true, then we can't really infer much at all besides the exterior contours of the exoskeleton from this picture. If *that* is true, then we also cannot infer anything about the midgate/sail pillar storage. This is just conjecture on my part, I'm probably way off on this one ;)
Thanks for putting "conjecture" in there. It's refreshing to see a glimpse of honesty in 23 pages.

mmmm

maybe why it took so long to dismantle the presses in Italy. They were testing and using it for this cast.

You are wrong. This is the CT and every piece you see here is probably 99% accurate for what will be the in the final version. It’s a coated high strength steel inner body with front and rear aluminum castings and will have a structural battery wrapped in coated steel. Just like they make the new model y with the exception that the CT will get a stainless exoskeleton instead of a painted body.
I'm not saying they couldn't complete it into a finished Cybertruck, I'm saying it's pretty obvious that is not the intended function of this particular chassis. I base that, in part, on the way it has been partially painted. If they were going to paint the chassis, they would prep it and paint it all at once. The photo clearly shows the paint fading out towards the upper parts of the A&B pillars and the framing around the roof.

It just clicked. I think many of us saw they white plastic wrapped delivery and thought it was the stainless exoskeleton because the shape matches so closely. But what was under that wrap is this inner body in the post!
Probably also why the package measurements were too short for a CT.

I think we can all agree that things that are further away in a photo should appear smaller.
Attached please find a pixel measure where you can see that the passenger side cast is way longer than the driver side one. Not to mention the other obvious Photoshop clues like the smearing on the the frame arch below wheel well on passenger side cast and the fact that no such arch is in the driver's side.
