Crissa,

Hate to disappoint you, but you are wrong - from a practical standpoint. It is not that simple when you are dealing with volunteer Condo and HOA board members.

...

Of course, California is separate case onto itself. They are the leaders in changing the laws, and greasing the wheels for the EV transition.
California contains 1/10th of Americans. And it's not the only state with these laws. New York, Massachusetts, Virginia all have laws that are similar. And states like even Georgia have debated them in their legislature.

You are wrong, and continue to be wrong, for no other reason than to be stubborn, as far as I can see. This is a truck forum, if you can afford a big truck, you probably have enough to charge it.

You lost? You didn't push hard enough. They are in violation. Hire a better lawyer and ramp up the pressure by charging them for loss of access and environmental damage.

I think we will still see the 500 stated range, there hasn't been a change and I expect with the given amount of extra time the CT has had in development they're throwing the kitchen sink at it, and with that, I expect to see V2 or V3 battery cell technology of the 4680s at that time which can outperform the 2170s.

Why do you say that? There aren't gas stations everywhere in the north. They're rarer than outlets.

And if you think ICE highway range doesn't go down in the winter, you're suspiciously not watching your mileage.

My RAV get 10.4 l/100km in winter and 10 in summer average. Winter tires has biggest impact. Northern BC has gas stations but few chargers. Need 500+miles range.

Maybe we will all be happily surprised and the 500+miles of range for the CT will be while towing max weight (like the semi). I will keep dreaming until the final specs are released.

Very doubtful.
In the commercial trucking market in which the Tesla Semi competes there are standard sizes for the big box trailers in which the aerodynamic of the trailers is mostly the same. At highway speeds, overcoming the aerodynamic drag is the main consumer of the tractors energy.

In the market of ball-hitch recreational trailers there is no real standards for size and shape ( coefficient of drag and front surface area, vehicle gap) because of that the energy to tow different trailers at highway speed varies too much.

What Tesla could do and something that would be valuable to know is if Cybertruck with vault cover closed and truck at full payload (3,500lbs) could do 500 miles.

I’d prefer they did a couple towing examples versus the weight thing.

Range towing a 14’ camper, maybe towing a utility trailer filled with dirt also.

Though by the time most of us get the nod these tests will be done independently I’m sure.

All EV trucks tested at the same time pulling the same weight.. an RV for example.

Spaced 100 meters apart, travelling 150 miles, doing 55 miles(90km) an hour on a closed circuit. Hockenheimring for example, they could take over the track at night.

I think the guys who do the Now You Know vidcast plan something like that. They’ve been buying all the EVs.

And then we should do a tug of war on a perfectly flat surface with an F150

And then send the results to Neil Degrasse Tyson. :D

And then we ignore the corrections clarifications qualifications and excuses. :p

My prediction:
Standard: 1-motor, 125kwh, 325 miles, 2.6mi/kwh
Long Range: 2-motor, 250kwh, 600 miles, 2.4 mi/kwh
Performance: 4-motor, 250kwh, 450 miles, 1.8 mi/kwh
that would be great......I would change from tri-motor to dual-motor

I wouldn't expect 600 miles of range on ANY versions of the Cybertruck unless you just like to be disappointed. Tesla has never even hinted that even their longest-range variant would be anything close to 600 miles. Remember, the Cybertruck is supposed to affordable and practical so it can disrupt the 1/2 ton pickup market in high volumes, not be an impractical trophy prize like the Hummer EV that weighs over 9,000 lbs and costs well into six figures.
agreed.......I also think that the 400mi range, considering that the usage we're told will be around 400-450wHr usage, will not be too appetizing to most.....my Model S averages 248 over 20,125 miles and I load it up when we travel......so I would want at least 500-600 dual motor range

No.

No stupid tug-o-wars.

If you want to do a pull contest, do a tractor pull. Or better, don’t because the whole exercise is pointless. People don’t pull things like that.

I’d far prefer they towed some large equipment and showed how far the various Trucks go and how well they perform while loaded.

A timed trip that includes the time at the charging station would be a good way to do it.

Also, letting BrandX use the Superchargers is a good idea so it highlights the actual utility of the trucks as opposed to the limits of the networks (which might improve in the future?).

Who buys a 1/2 ton truck to tow travel trailers? I think a more revealing test would be towing 3500 lb. flatbed trailers, each with a carbon copy of the tow vehicle secured to the flatbed.

Oh, wait, scratch that, it would put the Ford Lightning over its rated tow limit!
