This is one of those things that people are getting way too up tight about.

The prototypes are not the final truck. The prototypes are for Tesla to try out things. Some of those things will be visible. Some of them won't. Tesla quickly iterates and does not put all features into all prototypes.

So while it is fun to see the prototypes and speculate about the final product, we cannot know anything specific about the final CTs that we will get just by looking at prototypes.

But if you want to stress about your order, it's your $100 to do with as you wish. I'd recommend you try not to have a heart attack from the self induced stress along the way. But if that is the kind of entertainment you like, go right ahead.

Regarding bed width, can we extrapopate width from the neon light stick on the floor? I suspect these are purchased in a few standard sizes. 3', 4', 6'. Anybody have any thoughts on this

I gotta believe the 6 seater CT is not off the table. The website clearly says it'll seat 6 comfortably...

I think the 5 seats came from someone with, “ I know a guy who said so”. I will believe it when I see it. At this point it needs as many features as possible to stay ahead of the competition.

What trucks come standard with a winch? Maybe they'll have mounting for it in the frunk. Then you could pop it open and grappling hook your way out
An option for mounting would be great. However I’m really hoping they develop a high voltage one in house. At least we know CT is 48v so at least at a minimum it would have to be a 48v one so 1/4 the current, longer run times without over heating etc…

All trucks are designed by engineers, none by art students. Their claimed payload is around twice competing trucks, so if they live up to their word the bed should have no problem with some loggy logs or mulchy mulch.
You are wrong. Design and engineering are two very different things. All trucks are designed and engineered. I review billions in designed and engineered plans every year and there is a large spectrum of quality. Tesla is new to trucks. They don’t have extensive experience in that product type and it shows. They clearly were leaning more toward sport vehicle with a useful bed in my opinion.

Payload is one thing and durability is another. Making a truck for work vs a sports vehicle in the shape of a truck is what they did here. It appears they missed the mark on that bed design in my opinion.

Franz, Tesla’s lead designer who is very much the Mount piece of the Cybertruck project when Musk isn’t. Would very much agree with you. Designers figure out things like “How do we get fold up seats in the back of the truck.” Engineers figure out how to make the seats not collapse when your fat uncle sits in the back.

So I was thinking about the tailgate. If they do include the ramp, that’s going to be a 150 lb tailgate. It will need a power assist to close it. That’s probably what the third button is for with the tonneau buttons. Or they removed the ramp.
You never lifted a tailgate with and without a torsion spring.

They were new to cars, too.

I think the bed is larger than you think.
