I googled model s dimensions, and it came up with 77.3...

Yes, if bigger, we can add the difference to the CT

The CT is 5% smaller... but where is it losing the 5% ? We have to wait and see.

So it got wider then? Truck was 79.8 or something before?
It may be inaccurate, just using an online app ...

or maybe not all trucks are the same

I predict it will be the same width of an R1T.
But longer, and far more utilitarian. That bed, a working tonneau. Rivian has a nice product, but vastly overpriced. They know it.

Agree 100%. The Cybertruck will not be 80” or greater in width. Adding federally required amber lighting to the front and rear would add to manufacturing costs with lights and associated wiring. It’s the same reason why I believe the LED light bar in the upper windshield may be shelved or made optional.

It's more narrow than I had imagined. There's a chance it may fit in my garage!

The question for me isn’t the exterior footprint of the CT, but the resulting interior/cargo space and functionality.

The Rivian is an example of what can go wrong in truck design: the R1T manages somehow to produce a truck that is full-sized on the outside dimensions, but decidedly mid-sized in interior space and cargo room. That’s like the worst of both worlds.

I have every faith that Tesla will out-design Rivian for cargo/interior space, but the “pre-production beta” at investor day has me now wondering “but by how much?”

Width wise that is true, R1T is 79" wide, but length of an R1T is closer to a mid size truck than a full size.

BINGO, that first sentence.

BUT. The door.. girth. has me worried.

yet manages to have 0.5’ less bed than a Tacoma short bed (and Tacoma also offers a long bed)

emphasizes just how much of a mid-size+frunk it is, in terms of functionality
