You would? They can move a 4700lbs plunk of steel 60mph in under 2 seconds with 3 football sized motors.

Everything we have all seen suggests it is in fact two standard blades in the housing. 🤞🏼
Elon himself was concerned about the wiper design, and the BAW is a complete hack. Tesla doesn’t always crush things - we will simply have to wait and see how well this thing works across the spectrum of conditions it will surely find itself in.

I seriously doubt the price increase will be linear -- blades for existing Tesla models fall well within normal sizes for all type of cars and so are mass produced, but the blade on the CT is going to be unique to the CT itself for some time to come. Still, even if it costs 5-10x as much as a "normal" pair, it's not going to be a significant part of maintenance costs.
We know it's two normal sized blades end-to-end with slight overlap and most likely COTS.

Other then its immence size. As I adjust to the idea of a BAW I see more upside and benefit with it over a double wiper tucked behind the hood. I can't stand the streaks you get from where 2 wipers cross in the center of the windshield. The BAW has one clean sweep across the windshield.

I live in NC and we get a lot of ice and heavy wet snow. If the wife forget to put the wiper up before the storm or clean the ice/snow off the hidden wipers under the snow you stress the wiper motors.

It looks like it covers a greater portion on the windshield on the drivers side for better visibility.

In all it is growing on me.

Right? It isn't so bad hidden there along the A pillar and, for those who deal with snow and ice regularly, it may actually be better being stored vertically... No wiper to create an ice dam down there.

It might also be easier when you have to lower the drivers side window, do the reach around and grab the wiper and slam the ice off it while you’re driving down the road.

The wiper's mega size matches the whole in-your-face brutalist aura of the Cybertruck. 👍

Estimates on how much that bad boy is going to cost to replace? 😳
Replace every million miles of rain for $1400 😉

Just guessing…

LOL. I thought I was the only one who did that!

I figured that with the wiper vertice it is as streamlined as it can be made. Low drag.

True. I was just pointing out another reason to like it stored vertically. I really think they were testing the BAW at that wind tent. (GigaWindTent?)

It's probably a marker for the zone they must get clean for the driver, so they're probably measuring frequency and streaking.

I wouldn't, because those suck. I love Costco, but their wipers are too cheap. But it looks like the BAW uses two normal blades.

I get my wipers from https://www.myautoparts123.com/ (formerly wipers123) since I have odd sizes. They've been good to me thus far.

What are the chances that the wiper (since it started at the bottom) hides somewhere in the frunk while not in use, and Elon/Tesla are punking us with it out?

I live in Hawaii, so I don't anticipate having any trouble with snow. Having said that, I'm also a skier, so I'm familiar with snow and windshield wipers. In fact, I was skiing bottomless powder in Tahoe last March and I have this observation to share. When your windshield wipers freeze, it's because warm air in your truck melts snow and it trickles down the windshield and freezes on your wiper blades. All the snow and ice piles up in the space between the hood and windshield, that's why you need to lift the wipers when you park. When we get our trucks, we can cross that chore off our lists, because we'll never have to do that again. The wipers will start their initial swing ice free and at the top of the window, where the snow is the lightest. The verticle orientation will prevent ice from building up on the blades. Once again, Tesla engineers have broken the mold. I'm fairly sure that Musk has instilled a mindset in his engineers that says, everything we do could be done better. I don't think any of us are ready for how amazing our trucks are going to be. I know the OEM aren't and I know Wall Street isn't. Eat shit and die short sellers!
