My real motivation in owning a CyberTruck

If you drive enough, it's a no brainier. Here's my model Y compared to the F350 it replaced with California gas and electricity prices.

The problem with this is that the 2 vehicles aren't particularly comparable in any other way than miles driven.

Almost like I specified it for some reason. I wouldn't be surprised if the economy of the cybertruck isn't too far off.

...you could only squeeze about 75 kWh hours in, which would cost me about $7.50.

It would cost me about $23.25. But 300 miles in my above-average efficiency Mazda 3 would cost over $48 in gas and under $15 in maintenance of its engine. Not just electricity costs more here!

I'd imagine its moderately close. Definitely no question that the more miles driven the cost of a cybertruck vs an equivalent ICE truck is cheaper.

I've been driving an Audi Q4 e-tron since september as I got tired of waiting on the cybertruck, and my rough equivalent to a gas vehicle in terms of costs pegs it at somewhere around 100mpg of premium gas.

Mind you the day Tesla tells me mine is ready, that Q4 is going away.

I'm still stuck between doing a Halo Warthog wrap on the cybertruck, or a P40 Warhawk. But it looks like I still have another 6 months to year to make up my mind

I hope to retire in December 2024. I have several ordered. All with FSD. My hope is FSD is realized by 2025 and I will let them run as Robo Taxi's through Tesla and or destination Airbnb's with a bed camper system.

Side Hussle to create some income. Most likely would keep one as a final vehicle for myself to ride out my last 20 or more years if I am fortunate enough.

I have been saying for years there are multiple (main) reasons to go electric, it's not just about fighting climate change....

($5/gallon in here in California right now. That would have been $175 on my Dodge Ram.....)

I had a Cayenne diesel and I drive about 1,500 miles a month and cost $270 in gas, plus about $100 per oil change every 3-4 months.
I traded it for a 2021 Model 3 and now I pay about $15 a month total, it helps that I have solar at home too.

I also drive to California occasionally and for the 1,000 mile round trip. It cost only about $70 total from Supercharging.

Nice, eh? We just did a 2200 mile loop from Cali to Death Valley, Grand Canyon, Bryce, Zion, Arches. Total charging was $150, and we had free level 2 charging at 4 hotels.

And yet when one person learned we were driving a Tesla that far out: "You're very brave". Ok, boomer!
