Im going to go out on a narrow ledge here.
I dont care about the CT being 'green'., save the planet, polar bears, baby harp seals and all that. Neven been in the forefront of my mind.

I want it because of this :
I just filled up my wife's Dodge Laramie Longhorn.

30 gallons @ 2.96 a gallon.
Big sucker gets a BEST of 17.8 or so to a gallon, averages about 15-16.

Thats 6 miles per dollar for the fuel ALONE. Oil changes cost about 100.00 for the good stuff.
A Tesla M3 LR gets about 360 miles a charge. A charge is about 24.00
Thats about 15miles per dollar!

Total C.O.O. will be about 15-17% that of a ICe vehicle by far!
I want a CT because it WILL go FAST ( a LOT faster than that laramie ) on the cheap with a LOT less maintenance expense.
I want a CT becuase I can make my electricy WAY easier than a combustible fuel.
I want a CT becuase it will last me till I get hired as a coffin stuffer.

So you can scold me if you want about the 'environmental benefit' not even being a concern.

Man, you have cheap gas down there in Alerbama! All the signs I see here for regular unleaded are over $4/gallon.

But I don't know what's with the $24 to fill a Model 3? Even if it were completely empty, 0 miles of range left, and you were going to fill it to 100%, and you owned a Long-Range version that is not even in production right now, you could only squeeze about 75 kWh hours in, which would cost me about $7.50. The national average price of electricity when we bought our 2018 RWD Model 3 was only $0.13 per kWh. So the national average price to fill a Long-Range Model 3 from 0-100% was under $10 in 2018. Something tells me that when gas and oil interests identified the threat of EV's, they infiltrated electric utilities regulatory commissions and gave the utilities the green light to spend and waste money!

However, no one charges from 0-100%. Typical daily charge for someone driving the national average of 12K per year is 33 miles per day or about 8-9 kWh. I've been paying about 10 cents per kWh for many years so that's less than a buck a day. In Alerbama, you guys have to pay for nuclear boondogles. You are getting ripped off by crony capitalism and incompetence. Going full solar has never looked better than right now!

It’s the advantage of being old. You don’t have to care.

It’s like the guy who shits in the pool and leaves. He doesn’t care because he‘s done swimming.

yep gas IS cheap here... NOT cheap enough!
The M3 LR is a Hertz rental car. I currnetly do not own a Tesla but I rent them a LOT. I have to travel for my job.
The price that I payed to charge was using only Tesla superchargers only and whatever Tesla charged Hertz, that is what Hertz charged me.

" Something tells me that when gas and oil interests identified the threat of EV's, they infiltrated electric utilities regulatory commissions and gave the utilities the green light to spend and waste money!"--- I believe this to be true and accurate. I aint gonna argue about SOLAR.

I ( through lack of planning and having huge distances to cover ) have charged several times from about 2% to 100%.

Lemme buy ya a beer!

I am sure there are many reasons why people here want a Cybertruck, and I am sure there is a huge amount of overlap.

We are visiting Hawaii right now and I can imagine the Cybertruck sweeping Hawaii just due to its corrosion resistance, off roaring abilities and range.

If you drive enough, it's a no brainier. Here's my model Y compared to the F350 it replaced with California gas and electricity prices.

What are you talking about? Oklahoma's primary source of electrical generation is renewables and they use very little coal. That's why they have some of the cheapest electricity in the nation.

Coal is one of the most expensive ways to generate electricity which is why electrical utilities are shuttering coal plants all over the country. Wind and solar are amongst the cheapest.

I want a truck that's not ICE - that's my reason.
