Could be a structural pack with seats attached. Aviation regs may prohibit the airfreight of a battery that size, so it may have sailed in.

There are various approval levels of “HAZMAT” that an air cargo company can get approved for. Some can get way out there. It could be this particular company doesn’t have the needed approvals. Or it may be something entirely different.

There are companies that have approval to fly nuclear material. Think about that for a moment. Hard pass by me.

Center profile at grill might be an integrated winch, and that profile is where the winch rope/cable and hook pass through. Maybe want to test the winch in the ice and cold.
