I like the work truck better, don't care about useless frills of the RST and I would never want 24" tires on an EV truck. That Midgate on the RST is the only worthwhile feature but not worj $100k

The $79k Price keeps it under 80K so you get the rebate so its $71.5K for a 450 mile ev..

This makes me feel more confident that the 500 mile CT tri motor will still be under $80K

This is definitly my fall back truck if the 500 mile CT price is over 80K
It would be interesting to see if there will be a high range low frills (one motor, no air suspension, no rear wheel steering, ..) CT down the road.

Yes but this particular 4WT is the top available electric WT trim they’re offering, and it’s available only to fleet sales.

So thankfully middle of road blue collar workers couldn’t purchase this truck even if they wanted to.

But if their lucky, their employer will provide them this highest available trim level in its fleet, rather than the lower, cheaper trim level.

And there’s good reasons some companies would choose this sort of top available electric WT trim over the cheaper electric WT trims available - or any ICE GM WT available.
Perhaps I was mistaken but I thought the 4WT was the bottom trim in all respects except battery.

I could be mistaken as well, since info at present is fleeting and being relayed mostly by sloppy YouTubers etc

If what you’re saying is that generally speaking WT series trucks are bottom of trim line in Chevy offerings then sure

but within WT you can configure vehicles that are more expensive than the next trim level up, etc.

And specifically, as I understood the materials so far, this specific 4WT for >$70K is their most premium WT option for fleet - whether BEV or ICE

Just as the YouTubers also only have available to them and are describing and comparing the $105K highest trim level/optioned retail EV

$78K for 450 mile and $72K for 350 mile work truck means the consumer 350 mile version may be around $79K and no guarantee it will include Mid-gate.

p.s 8500 lb is heavy. Looking forward to see CT’s weight for similar range. I am hoping it will be better if they are shooting for originally announced payload.
I am hoping that we will be pleasantly surprised by the CT in that because of it's battery/motor/resistance efficiency (improvements in the 4680) and structural battery packs, that the CT will achieve similar performance with only a 100-150 Kwh battery thus leading to a significantly lower truck weight and subsequent cost.

If I got this right, M3 long range goes 374 mile with 82 KWh battery. CT would have to have same level of efficiency.

that is not impossible and something to hope for as there have been many improvements since I bought my long range M3 in 2018.

CT is a truck. Sold in U.S., it should have a much higher volume than X so it can afford to have lower margin. It does not have paint or complications of a fancy door. The question is if Tesla will keep the price as low as they can to maintain volume from the get go or they will start with high price until they run out of high margin sales and then they lower it.
To me, it's not even a question or a debate: Tesla would not want to put money on the table as long as they can maintain their 20% gross profit margin.

The trick for Tesla is to make the car more affordable, and they can only do that if they can lower their cost to make the Cybertruck.

If Silverado EV is under $80K with 450+ miles of range, I'm now confident that Tesla's Cybertruck will be cheaper than the Silverado EV and will have more range as well.

So less than $80K and more than 450 miles of range for the Cybertruck, is my new prediction. LOL. (Yes, I'm bored and anxious!)

Dude, I personally think this Chevy offer is quite good. I call Chevy "Shitvrolet" myself and do not trust it, but kudos to them for getting a higher range "tow monster" out quicker than the big Cyber dragon in the cave.

I hope everyone can afford a Cybertruck, and that the wait wasn't worthless. I wouldn't be surprised if we see a similar price with a little more range from Tesla.

Tough to say how they spin this.... hmmmm
Honestly I would be surprised at anyone who buys a lightning or Silverado this year. Since they announced a switch to NACS charger next year anyone who buys this year will instantly be buying an outdated truck. When you want to sell in a few years no one will want to buy it and have to use CCS.

Perhaps they priced it so high so they can have as few customers with buyers remorse as possible.

It sounds like it will compete well with the Ford Lightning.
If it truly can get 450 miles of range, that will have a lot of appeal to some buyers.

Is it expensive? Yes. $77,000 for the WorK Truck model is pricey, but so is the Rivian and the Lightning and we assume the CyberTruck.

There are a lot of people that are hard-core Chevy fans, I think the Silverado will sell.

NOTE. Longterm the prices are going to have to come down for all of the above pickups. Early adopters are / were willing to pay $80,000+ for a pickup. But the average truck buyer won't. Ford, GM, Tesla, Dodge are going to have to have an EV Pickup model that is in the $55,000-$66,000 range to broaden the sales base.

Luxury has a different meaning to me now. If the car is not autonomous, by definition it is not luxurious.

As long as the Cybertruck has ventilated seats and a killer stereo, to me it will be the most luxurious and the most capable vehicle on this planet.

Now add a 500+ mile range and you have got a winner. The price is the only thing that will determine whether they sell 200K or 1M+ per year.
